Rather than pander to the purists or create music for DJs alone, Daniel Goldstein aka Lane 8 has always tread his own, distinctive path -- perhaps best summed up by his phones-free event and label concept This Never Happened.
The concept is a simple one: remove all phones and cameras from the event, get back to connecting with the music and the people around you. And it is one that has been embraced with passion by Lane 8's dedicated fanbase and the dance community at large. With his most recent This Never Happened tours including sold-out shows at Warsaw in New York, The Fonda in LA, and Zoo Project in Sydney, the This Never Happened message is being spread far and wide.
In tandem with the events, Daniel's output on the TNH label has stood out for its integrity and artistry whether on emotional epics like "Fingerprint" or quirky upbeat groovers such as "With Me." Always defined by a melodic touch, TNH is the culmination of a steady, assured rise over recent years.
After blowing up in the blogosphere with a series of Soundcloud-driven Hype Machine #1s around 2014, Lane 8 rose to wider prominence through a relationship with the tastemaking Anjunadeep label and his critically acclaimed 2015 album "Rise."
Returning to the label with the Kidnap Kid collaboration "Aba," 2017 will also see a steady stream of music on This Never Happened and more TNH tours the world over.
Alongside his own productions, his remixes have almost become as sought after as his originals with reworks of Maribou State's Wallflower and ODESZA's "Bloom." More recently he has given RUFUS's leftfield pop gem "Innerbloom" and Deadmau5's iconic "Strobe" his own unique touch.
Influenced by everything from the sunsets of his San Francisco hometown to DJing the playa at Burning Man, Luttrell's unique brand of melodic techno has seen him gain heavy support from BBC Radio 1, and receive remix requests from renowned acts Moby, What So Not and Tycho. Annie Mac made 'Intergalactic Plastic' her Hottest Record in the World earlier this year, and his productions have also been supported by Pete Tong, Kolsch, Joris Voorn, Lane 8 and many more. His early musical influences include The Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, and The Prodigy, but a semester spent studying in Berlin introduced him to techno.
Now a mainstay of the Anjunadeep touring family, Luttrell has performed at major venues on both sides of the Atlantic, from Bill Graham in San Francisco, to London's Phonox. 2018 has also seen him play Holy Ship, the DoLab at Coachella, and Tomorrowland, plus supporting Above & Beyond, Rüfüs Du Sol, and Lane 8 on their US tours. In December he heads back to the UK to play London's Printworks, while in January he embarks on his Into Clouds North American tour, celebrating the release of his debut artist album across 20+ headline dates.

I've had a little dream of doing a series of extended daytime events since we launched the TNH concept. So, this summer, we are excited to bring TNH back, with a twist, for the Summer Gatherings - three extended daytime parties in three unique locations with an extra focus on positivity, character and atmosphere.
I’ve always felt there’s a special magic that comes together at the best daytime events, so my team and I have been searching high and low for locations that have that unique and positive vibe.
Once again, the dancefloor will be a phones-free space with no photos or filming - just each other, the music and the special connection that happens when those things interact.
This experience we share together may, by today’s standards, have never happened. But those who dare will always know - something special did happen here.
Love, Daniel (Lane 8)
