Petit Biscuit (\pә.ti bis.kɥi\) is a 17 year old electronic music producer from France, keen to take on the world. After picking up the cello at age 5 and entering French classical music school the Conservatoire soon after, things heated up when Petit Biscuit got his first PC at 11. Editing and mixing all the sounds of his tracks himself, he excels in creating unmistakable chopped and twisted vocal leads. His first tracks got him an impressive following on SoundCloud and YouTube early on. Now with the release of his debut EP in May 2016, the delicate music of the young prodigy has started to spread like wildfire. The song "Sunset Lover", heady and recognizable among thousands, acts as its spearhead.
Mehdi, as he's known by his friends, draws from both his "real" instruments and the unusual and autonomous digital sounds he creates. On stage, Petit Biscuit plays as many realtime parts as he can, while carried away by the machines he programs. The stunning live show combines analog and electronic, interplaying sounds, videos and lights. Petit Biscuit takes his public with him into a vibrant odyssey, and plunges it into an atmosphere that feels both familiar and exotic. In 2016, he performed at the biggest French festivals (Les Vieilles Charrues, Solidays, Garorock, etc.) and in Europe (Dour Festival in Belgium), as well as in the renowned ElyséeMontmartre in Paris, selling out its 1,350 capacity quickly. Every live show he has played thus far has sold out, including forthcoming dates this April in the U.S. and Canada.
Since its release, “Sunset Lover” has been streamed more than 135 million times on Spotify alone and Petit Biscuit’s profile gets up to 1 million streams per day. His music has been viewed more than 54 million times on YouTube, and the biggest French commercial radio stations have him at the top of their playlists. His chart success speaks for itself: #3 on the iTunes main chart, #4 on Spotify, #5 on Shazam and #9 on Deezer.
Abroad, the track can be heard on Beats1 (Apple Music), BBC1 (UK), Energy & Radio Fritz (Germany), TripleJ (Australia), NRJ & PureFM (Belgium), Couleur3 (Switzerland), P3 (Sweden) and many more. His music can be found in the Spotify top 100 of up to 25 countries.
Daktyl uses his multi-instrumentalist talents and diverse musical background to make insane beat driven grooves of a future bass sound which completely disregards the confines of a single genre. After a 32 date tour of the US and Canada with Slow Magic in 2014, Daktyl released an 11 track album on L.A. based label Mad Decent, making him one of the only British artists on their roster. The album, Cyclical was released on the 21st of April 2015 and reached #14 in the US Electronic iTunes chart. Daktyl has been featured on Billboard, Noisey, Thump, Vice, TheSoundYouNeed, Do Androids Dance, Rinse FM, EDM.com, and many more. More recently he was given a coveted Artists To Watch title in Rolling stone magazine and was Zane Lowes Next Hype with his track Forgettable. He has also had remixes on Columbia Records, and has recently been invited to do guest mixes on BBC Radio 1 for Todla T, DJ Target and Diplo.
