I started my music career freshman year of high school singing James Brown and Paul Simon in the school jazz band. The next year I picked up the guitar and started to orchestrate my passion for singing with my new ability as a rhythm guitarist. It was in this time that I started writing my own music as well as picking up more and more cover songs by my favorite artists. In college I took to frequenting any bars where I could play music and eventually found a co-writer / singer / guitarist who shared my taste for rock and roll and live performances. Soon after, we got a weekly gig at one of the local bars and started to gain a following as the Sex Kitchen Love Cooks. We wanted to play at bigger bars however, and to do that we needed a bigger band. So, we recruited a drummer and bassist to join our act and for the next few years secured the reputation as being one of the biggest, most rocking, and entertaining groups in town. By the time we broke up at the end of college, we had amassed an incredible set list of music from every decade from the 60's til today, had a Facebook following almost 300 people strong, and were able to engage a crowd of 50-100 people for 4 hours at a time. Those were the glory days. Since then I've been content playing open mic nights when and where I can around Denver and Vail, eventually landed a gig playing at Bart & Yetis a few days a week in the summer of 2011. I still play whenever I can, and keep up on my covers and originals alike. I am ecstatic about playing a The Walnut Room, and can't wait to see what it's like up on that balcony stage!
