Back In The Saddle
BACK IN THE SADDLE is a new, all star Western band! This exciting new group was formed by Berné “Frenchy” Poliakoff and L.A. “Durn” Tuten, both from Cowboy Envy. Cowboy Envy was a very well loved and critically acclaimed Western band. C.E. toured extensively, won numerous music awards and was featured on the Putumayo Records compilation, “Cowboy Playground.”
BACK IN THE SADDLE features two new members. Grammy nominated Jazz singer extraordinaire, “Gallopin” Gwen Hughes, brings stellar vocal and performance skills to the band. Guitarist “Ramblin” Rick Hinkle is master of all things stringed. They join “Frenchy” and “Durn” as the core of BITS. Berne, “Frenchy”, is an accomplished singer/songwriter/performer who is comfortable with a wide range of musical genres from Jazz to Folk to Country. She has composed many of the songs that make up the band’s repertoire. Her onstage comedy styling is famous. LA “Durn” Tuten is THE bass player in Georgia and can play superbly in any genre. He’s also a fine singer.
Fair warning. BACK IN THE SADDLE is fronted by two fiery redheads, “Frenchy” and “Gallopin’ Gwen! Danger, danger!
We also have amazing guest artists who perform with the band on a regular basis. Our fabulous accordionist, Matt “Kickin” Kaminski, is also the organist for the Atlanta Braves and a much in demand keyboardist. He even plays in a Polka band! And the outstanding fiddle player, “Tijuana Tim” Higgins, rounds out the mix with his amazing fiddle “chops”.
