Ken Newman is a San Francisco-based Singer/Songwriter. He performs solo and with his band, "Berkeley Bronx," (w/ Andrea Hensler, Mario Ornelas and Jeff Desira.) For the past six years, his earnings from music have all been donated to a variety of homeless charities; Compass Family Services and Larkin St. Youth Services. More recently, he and a number of fellow musicians have been supporting a program called, "Blanket The Homeless."
Andrea Hensler majored in math and got distracted. Since then she's been the lead guitarist for Mobius Donut, keyboardist for the Jean Genies Bowie tribute, and backing artist for various acts from Jello Biafara to Country Joe MacDonald."
She also performs with "The Third Thursday Band," and is a bass player and vocalist with, "Berkeley Bronx."
Blanket The Homeless
"Blanket The Homeless" is a fundraising concert. All proceeds going to the musicians will be used to purchase emergency blankets, socks, hand warmers, and first aid kits. These will be packaged up and distributed to our friends and neighbors living on the streets of San Francisco. Guests will also be encouraged to take some of these packages with them to hand out on the way home from the show.
This is also a #BeRobin event, commemorating the life and philanthropy of Robin Williams.
