Avalon Landing

With a strong combination of pioneering attitude, reckless life choice and good timing, Avalon Landing came together during the Summer of 2011. With just two visits to Las Vegas under their belts, core members Josh Rabenold (keys/vocals) and Clayton Cobb (lead guitar/backing vocals) made the 2500 mile move across the USA to join their long time friend Mike Vargovich (guitar/vocals) for a music project that had been years in the making. Rounding out their roster Avalon Landing found John Lloyd (drums) and Corey Surratt (bass/backing vocals), both of whom cut their teeth with the band on their Southwestern tour in support of Avalon Landing’s first full length effort Reside. The 13 song collection was released in November of 2013 with the guidance of Grammy nominated engineer and producer Bryan Russell (NGHBRS, The Narrative, Volbeat, Coldplay).

From their inception Avalon Landing has hit the ground running, making a name for themselves within the Las Vegas music scene playing shows at prominent venues such as the Bunkhouse, House of Blues, Beauty Bar and Hard Rock Live on the Strip. The band has also branched throughout the Southwest visiting Los Angeles, Phoenix, Provo, and Denver in an effort to gain regional traction amongst music fans.

Avalon Landing’s well written and carefully crafted songs, along with their powerful and concise live performances have gained the band notoriety amongst their peers, the press, and the promoters for whom they’ve played. This strong reputation has opened several doors for the band, including not one but two invitations to open for fellow Las Vegans Imagine Dragons at Hard Rock Live on the Strip where the Las Vegas mega success celebrated the release of their critically acclaimed EP and eventually their platinum album “Night Visions.”

As Avalon Landing continues to push forward, their momentum holds true. During the spring of 2014 the band entered and won the Las Vegas Hard Rock Rising competition. The band went on to compete as a finalist in the world wide competition, representing the city of Las Vegas.

Avalon Landing can be seen live around the valley regularly, as well as heard on several Las Vegas radio stations. The official singles of
Avalon Landing’s full length Reside, “About Face” and “No Apology” have been spotlighted consistently on Las Vegas’ x107.5, Mix94.1, and Komp 92.3, attesting to the bands ability to write honest and relatable songs that find room on both pop and rock/alternative radio stations alike.

Keep an eye out for new music from Avalon Landing. Though their full length record has yet to hit its one year anniversary the band plans to release new music in both the fall and coming spring. They continue to be present in the Las Vegas music scene as well as on the road in the Southwest. Do not hesitate to catch this dynamic group in action if given the chance. With each show and each song written, Avalon Landing up their game, pushing further their songwriting craft and the production of their live performances.

State to State

State to State is a band ready to leave their mark. Since releasing their first LP No Bounds in 2014, they have established themselves as flag bearers of atmospheric rock, while looking to create a new path for themselves in a landscape forged by bands like Muse, Radiohead, and Interpol. Their new EP "Motives" might be just that: the collection of songs to separate them from their peers and reaffirm the power of progressive guitar driven rock. "Motives" is five tracks of soaring, inspired alternative rock that was produced and recorded by Grammy Award nominated Ian MacGregor (Katy Perry, Twenty One Pilots, All American Rejects, Ariana Grande) at Greg Wells' Rocket Carousel Studio in Culver City, CA. Guitarist Andrew Orvis talked about the recording process: "Creating this new record has been quite a journey for us. Thankfully, working with Ian MacGregor has been like having a 5th member of the band and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. Recording at Rocket Carousel gave us the opportunity to experiment with all kinds of gear, which really helped expand our tonal options for each song."

"Motives" is a compelling five-part journey that explores the rich soundscapes State to State are slowly becoming masters of. The EP kicks off with lead single "My Little Phony" which rocks with a sense of urgency, while other highlights like "Arms" and EP closer "Pins and Needles" burn slowly under the surface, waiting to soar. "Motives" is a wholly breathtaking experience and serves as a benchmark the band has set for itself. Drummer Feudor Lokshin had this to say about the EP: "I see 'Motives' as five different stories with their own characters, framed in music and not bound by any specific genre."

With "Motives" State to State are ready to make waves within the Los Angeles alt scene, and with tour dates in the works for early 2016, they have their eyes set on the rest of the country.

Since forming in 2010 the band have slowly been building the groundwork for success in Los Angeles with residencies at notable venues like The Viper Room and Hotel Cafe. They have also performed at the Pancakes and Booze pop-up art show as well as Eat See Hear & Street Food Cinema.

State to State is Shea Stratton (vocals / guitar), Andrew Orvis (guitar), Feudor Lokshin (drums), and Patrick Morgan (bass).

Cameron Dettman

Cameron Dettman is a singer-songwriter who creatively combines his roots in funk, soul, blues, and country, to craft a sound all his own by approaching these genres with his modern pop sensibility. Dettman’s vivacious tenor vocals are quite pleasing to the ear, which tantalizes his listeners encouraging them to want to hear more.

The former Play For Keeps frontman decided to pursue a solo career after the dissolution of his band, unrelenting in his pursuit for musical success. This occurrence proved to be a blessing in disguise, leaving Dettman with the chance to chase a new musical direction which couldn’t be achieved in Play For Keeps.

After only six months of writing new music and searching for a fresh sound, Dettman has already opened for acts like Pop Punk Group The Downtown Fiction, and performed at the Music Is Beautiful Showcase in downtown Las Vegas. He also placed in the top three in Star 107.9 Radio’s “Who Wants To Be A Star?” competition this August, 2015.

Cameron Dettman is currently working on his debut EP which is set to be released this fall. Dettman has hired some of the best studio musicians in Nashville to record his album at the 11th Street Records studio in downtown Las Vegas.

Singer/songwriter Jesse Pino is no stranger to the Vegas music scene. In 1998, at age 15, Pino formed the melodic punk band Nadaclue. Heavily inspired by the bands of Fat Wreck Chords and Epitaph, Nadaclue quickly captured attention with their fast, driven beats, hook-laden songwriting with solid harmonies.
After Nadaclue’s tenure came to an end in 2000, Pino spent the next 10 years maturing and developing through other styles of music, a journey that would ultimately bring him to performing guitar and backup vocal duties for Las Vegas’ much-loved 5-piece rock band Left Standing. Sharing the stage with his two older brothers, Left Standing served up a welcome dose of rock ‘n roll as well as incredible acoustic sets.
In 2010, Jesse decided to step out on his own, and selected his debut shows wisely - sharing the stage with folk punk troubadour legend Chuck Ragan, quickly followed by a supporting spot for master songsmith Kevin Devine.
The fall of 2013 showed even more promise, as Pino was chosen to be the opener for Tegan and Sara at the House of Blues. He later earned the prestige title of becoming RAW Vegas's "Musician of the Year" under the RAW: Natural Born Artists Arts Organization, where the magazine highlighted his ability “to blur the once-pronounced line separating folk and punk.”
2015 found Pino opening for the lead singer of Ours, Jimmy Gnecco, and 2016 was another strong year, as he was honored with the title of Las Vegas’s “Best Singer-Songwriter” from Desert Companion Magazine.
Comfortable with a full band or just an acoustic guitar in hand, Jesse continues to craft his own signature brand of folk rock. Pino released The Burn EP in 2011 and is currently preparing to release a new EP showcasing his backing band The Vital Signs. The EP is set to be released in early 2017.
Press:
"In the style of punker-cum-folker Chuck Ragan, Vegas native and Left Standing guitarist Jesse Pino proves to be a slick singer-songwriter." - Jarret Keene, Vegas Seven
“He’s got a voice that can silence a room, and with his knack for catchy songwriting, we’re sure there are much brighter lights in his future. But for now, we’re just thankful to count him among the best local acts in town.” - Ashleigh Matview, Punks in Vegas

“The aggressive yet delicate manner with which the 27-year-old [Jesse Pino] strums his guitar is the calling card of a veteran.” - Michelle Franco, Vegas Seven

“Pino’s solo music can be considered singer-songwriter in nature, if only because he’s a guy onstage with an acoustic guitar. But his songs and live performances are infused with a punk mentality, some rockabilly soul and, at times, a bit of outlaw-country-storytelling.” -Chris Bitonti, Las Vegas Weekly
