Critically acclaimed by media including The New York Times, AGDT highlights include appearances at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Carnegie Hall, Joseph Papp’s Latin Festival in NY, Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors and Central Park's Harlem Meer Festival. It led a US State Department program in the Dominican Republic and performs in New York, nationally and Mexico. Performances in Mexico include Chihuahua’s Palomar International Festival, Mexico City’s National Autonomous University and Museo del Templo Mayor, and San Luis Potosí's International Lila López Dance Festival. The Lincoln Center’s Performing Arts Library collects AGDT videos. It has received grants from. e.g., the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, the New York State Council on the Arts, the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, foundations and corporations. Awards include the ACE "Quintero" and a NYC Mayoral Proclamation.
$15.00 - $20.00
This is a highly varied concert of 8 works with great dancers: solos, duets, quintets and a sextet. Music ranges from a Beethoven organ piece and an early Mozart symphony through gorgeous, romantic Mexican songs to sounds of a country thunderstorm. Moods range from provocative to outright comedic in "Mozartmania", a satire on overly serious ballet posturing. Join us for a fun program promising a good time for all!
