Stasis is an young Instrumental Post-Metal Trio from Austin, TX. They were founded in 2003 as a progressive metal duo, with drummer Raanen Bozzio, son of drumming legend Terry Bozzio (Frank Zappa, Jeff Beck, Missing Persons), and guitarist James Lambrecht. They have since added bassist Eric Peana in 2009 and evolved into a genre bending sound that is hard to pin down, having been described as "Mastodon meets Sigur Ros". With elements of Metal, Math-Rock, Dub, Ambient, Indie Pop, Jazz-Fusion, Experimental and Progressive, their music is sure to please nearly anybody at a given time.

"Our band shouldn't really fit together, or even make sense," says Raanen. "Because I'm infuenced by a lot of Metal and J-Rock, James listens to Post-Rock, Electronic music and Film Scores, and Eric is a Jazz, Funk, Reggae guy, but somehow we all meet on a level that works and allows the music to flow nicely."
