Hotel Mexico, “Kyoto’s best-kept secret” (The Independent), formed in 2009. They released their debut EP, “His Jewelled Letter Box,” in July 2010. At the beginning of 2011, Hotel Mexico released their first 7-inch single titled “It’s Twinkle/ Do You Do You Haia” (Second Royal Records). They followed that up in June with the track “Dear Les Friends.” Gorilla vs. Bear called it a “gloriously faded ‘70s summer groove.”
In March 2012, Hotel Mexico released the 7-inch single “A Space in the Loveless Field/Wolves Running Through the Desert” on Britain’s Double Denim Records.
Hotel Mexico’s music has been used in Pharrell’s documentary “Tokyo Rising” and Vice has featured a mini-documentary based on the band. Also, Hotel Mexico has been featured in Pitchfork’s Forkcast, as well as NME and Japan Times. They’ve shared the stage with The xx, Pictureplane, Mi Ami, and Jesse Ruins.
Hotel Mexico is currently working on their first full-length album set to be released at the end of 2012.
Stereo Off is a five piece group of New York City based indie rockers with electronic overtones. When producer/ lead vocalist Sebastian began the new project, he enlisted an eclectic roster of friends from SUNY music conservatories, Juilliard, and the band scenes of London and NYC. With influences ranging from electronic bands and rock influences from classic rock to 90’s indie bands, Stereo Off takes a straight forward approach in their danceable melodies, catchy guitar riffs and analog keyboard accents.
