Pusice Jones needs no introduction, but in case you're a bad listener: PUSCIE is an acronym that stands for the Pursuit of the Un-inhibited and Stimulated Core Inside of everyone. Puscie Jones is a man, a band and a movement. A belief system, a way of living, permission to be your truest self. Stylistically the band plays originals and covers that fall into the 1970's funk and soul genre. Puscie himself is the frontman, backed by the vocals of Baby DynOmite and Eve Savage, Jason Taylor on guitar, Thomas Rojo on bass, Alex Mello on keys, Jeramy Lewis on drums, Joe Schmeltzer on sax and Matt Von Roderick on trumpet.
Groove Sauce is a new and rising funk act based in Los Angeles. All members hail from various musical backgrounds, bringing a whole new energy to LA's funk scene. The band combines soulful harmony and melody with strong infectious beats, channeling classic funk artists such as James Brown and Tower of Power, and newer bands such as Lettuce and Snarky Puppy. Being well-known for their high-energy live performances, Groove Sauce is jazz/funk powerhouse that should not be missed.
The Love Conspiracy
Big Pop & the Love Conspiracy was started by bassist/vocalist Elliott Lawrence. Learning about music in his native Pittsburgh Pa exposed him not only to all kinds of music, but also to a legacy of some of the worlds best entertainers.
Elliott started on bass as at Pittsburgh's High School for Creative and Performing Arts and studied music at Clarion University of Pennsylvania). After a summer dinner theater gig with the award winning performance company the Young Americans, he relocated to Southern California to join them. After seven years of touring, Elliott settled in Orange County, busying himself with freelance gigs, studio sessions with DJ Quik collaborators Second II None and Suga Free and a year playing with "The World Famous Cabana Boys of Fullerton College". He has also found opportunities to play with such notables as "Dirty Walt" Kibby of Fishbone, broadway standout Shoshana Bean, and metal/funk legends 24-7 Spyz. Eventually, reconnecting with some old friends, he joined the band Upstart with whom he still plays.
The LoveCon sound blends elements from all over the map into his original music.
The Love Conspiracy saw it's first digitally released solo single, Fo' Dollaz in July of 2009, and played their first solo gig a few months later.
In his musical life, Elliott has been blessed to make music with many great musicians, and he still challenges himself by surrounding himself with the best players he can find. His primary collaborator is guitarist and longtime friend Dominic White. He's also been joined on recent gigs by drummer/vocalist Desi Gabrielle, and keyboardist Jon "Fingers" Caldwell, and Drummer/Percussionist Tony Hundtoft.
