Steddy P is not your average rapper, and he'll be the first to admit these are not average times, so he writes an array of songs depicting his life as best he can, simply honest. Steddy P has also become involved in video editing and graphic design, so now his platform for expression is much bigger than it's ever been entering a new decade and the most important time, now.
A native to Kansas City, MO, Steddy has an enormous passion for the music he creates. His experiences in this harsh music climate date back to 2004 during his stint in college, assembling Steddy English mixtapes with resources from Streetside Records and Kinkos. Hailing from Kansas City, Steddy was forced to research the art form that caught his attention so much.
With no major labels or legitimate endorsers, Steddy P along with Andy Price and Eddy English started IndyGround Entertainment, a label striving to create an aesthetic separate from popular culture, focusing regionally on the Middle of Map, USA. At first, the label placed emphasis on the Interstate 70 highway stretch from Lawrence to St. Louis and everything in-between; but now thanks to a grassroots approach and five years of hard work, IndyGround continues to expand nationally. Along with business partner Adam Hoffsette (Magic8 Designs), Steddy runs the IndyGround Headquarters out of downtown Kansas City, MO.
Sharing stages with some of the best live hip hop acts in the business has definitely made critics pay attention to Steddy P. Frequently performing as opening support for these acts in the Midwest region, he leaves the usual conventions of stereotypical rappers by the wayside, earning stripes month by month for over the last two years along side DJ Mahf relentlessly touring the Midwest region.
Steddy P has recently opened for Tech N9ne, Talib Kweli, Brother Ali, Murs, P.O.S, Cool Kids, Flobots, Blueprint, Sadat X of Brand Nubian, Blackalicious, Qwel of Typical Cats, and the list goes on...
Prophet
Prophet was born in Columbia, Missouri and raised on it's Southside his whole life. Ever since he was young, the MC had a passion for how drums sound. First playing drums at his church, it eventually gravitated into a passion for not just Hip Hop, but music as a culture. He was brought up around every genre, due to his mother and father's taste in music. He is an intimate lyricist who seeks to turn his music into what gives it it's soul and sense of eternity. Prophet got his first taste of recording at age 15 and since then has become inseparable with headphones and a microphone. There are are many artists with the talent to be great, but there are few artists that represent change to the game and remain a strong influence. Prophet seeks to become that artist that completely changes how we look at Hip Hop, and music in general.
Lunar Mansion is a thunderous four-piece rock outfit based in Columbia, Missouri. This is a band that was formed with one simple goal: to deliver a visceral, blistering, rock and roll experience. Upon their formation in 2008, these boys quickly realized that they had tapped into a force of nature too powerful to be contained. The list of band members reads like a veritable rogue's gallery, featuring the incomparable Josh Wrong, the inconceivable Blango, the illustrious Mike Danger, and the impetuous Diggy Splash.
Lunar Mansion's debut album Nuclear Family is a blast of catchy hooks, pounding rhythms, and jagged guitar riffs. While the raw energy and excitement will no doubt catch your ear, the dynamics and atmosphere of this album are the reason you'll keep listening long after you've memorized every last word.
Hailing from Columbia, Missouri but known nationwide for his high-energy vocals and dynamic word play, Omega has been a force to be reckoned with from the day he first set foot on the scene. First breaking through the ranks of the Hip Hop world as a member of NASCAR driver Carl Edwards' Back40 Records, Omega set a precedent for Midwestern-based artists early in his career. Edwards said of Omega upon signing him that he is "spectacular." "He's got the most energy of anybody I've ever met. He's a Hip Hop artist who really believes in doing the right thing."
After participating in the Back40 project That One CD and working with producers such as Atlanta's Nitti Beatz, Aaron Naeger of Dexter Beats, Joel and Benji Madden, and Jason "Jay E" Epperson of Dead Executives just to name a few, Omega's long anticipated Furious Styles mixtape was released for free to the public on January 3, 2012.
Collaborating with artists over the years such as Strange Music's Stevie Stone, John Cena of WWE fame and Teeper T from The Cold Cuts, he has crafted amazing tracks time and time again. His ability to write amazing rhymes with an R&B presence has made him popular amongst all ages of music lovers. With a portfolio as charismatic as his, Omega has and will continue to set the standard for excellence in the world of Hip Hop.
Who is Blake Gardner? To answer that question, one would have to ask themselves how one artist could combine the best that Rock, Hip-Hop, Alternative, Funk, Reggae and Jam had to offer into one individual and then try to classify it as a genre... Good luck with that.
Needless to say, Blake Gardner is not looking to be put into a category. The 21 year old Quincy, Illinois native who grew up sifting through his parents Oldies vinyls has always been drawn to the "untypical." His journey as a musician began with piano and trumpet lessons at age 9. He bought his first guitar, a used Peavey Predator later that year simply because he liked it's blue finish. The French horn came in junior high and evolution continued through adolescence as he began playing bass guitar in his high school band.
From these humble but hard-working beginnings, Blake began song-writing and singing. Playing with various groups of friends who recognized his amazing natural talents, he took a lead role in forming and organizing various bands throughout his senior high days. Being a part of developing new sounds has always been a part of his repertoire. The drive to produce music that sounds different from others continues to be the catalyst in his current work.
Inspired by everything from 311 to Phish and Dave Mathews right on down to Snoop Dogg and The Beastie Boys, it's easy to see how an artist with such a complicated palate could deliver such a unique sound to the world of popular music. Inspired by sheer possibility, Blake decided that music was his true calling and has not looked back ever since. His unique collaboration of styles continues to captivate listeners as he forges forward with a career that is sure to continue to span years and years to come.
Blake Gardner is traveling and booking nationally on a regular basis. He has shared the stage with acts such as Junior Varsity, The Graduate, The Forecast, Steddy P, Brett Gretzky and Dallas, amongst others.
Royce Diamond
His work has generated a style that is a blend of club, street and hip hop, mixed with a dash of music creation that can only be tapped as pure Royce Diamond. With the launch of his Between Time album in 2008 came the beginning of a steady, if not chaotic, stream of musical frenzy that has yet to show signs of stopping. Because just a year later, we have his follow-up project, Aficionado, an album that already boasts over 12,000 downloads has earned him acclaim from Pitch reviewer, Jason Harper, who heralded the release as a 'superb new full-length’ that we must ‘dart to our mouse to download.' The project also earned a rave review in "The Beatbox," highlighting who’s musically hot at present, as well as an INK album review touting him as the 'next big thing.' Among his 2009 shows, he performed onstage with his Datura Records family and opened up for internet-to-main stage phenomenon, the Cool Kids, for a late summer blend of pure artistry and just a plain ol’ good time.
But even with all that under his belt, every savvy businessman and dedicated artist knows, there is no rest for the weary, as 2010 looks to be shaping up to be an even busier year, with a schedule that will include a regional tour, a third album release, a calendar full of performances, and a few surprises kept up his sleeve. Whether you've been tuned in from day one or are just now being caught up to speed, keep your running shoes on, because you have now entered the world of Royce Diamond and he stops at nothing on his way to the top.
