3 Grams Over An Ounce is an all out fast heavy, yet catchy, and most of all fun music. They've been compared to Suicide Machines, Operation Ivy, Choking Victim, and The Bouncing Souls. Mixing the styles of the variety of music that the members listen to, often the next song won't sound like the last. With dual vocals with songs ranging from social injustice, frustration, to smoking some weed, to break-ups, blazing bass rifts, epic solos, fast, technical beats, and the upstroke, to heavy distorted guitar, followed by mind blowing riffs; 3 Grams is something to hear for yourself.
After countless sweaty club shows and a couple well-received EPs, Allout Helter began production on their debut full length, 'Sinking, We Regress,' in the spring of 2012 their studio, "The Helter Shelter." Released on Dang!Records in May of 2013, this long-awaited collection of nine bombastic songs showcases Allout Helter's finest work to date. With finishing touches applied to the album by Chris Fogal at Black in Bluhm Music, the result is a raw and powerful exploratory criticism of modern society laid over the fast, aggressive melodic-hardcore and technical punk that the band is known for.
Along with this seminal release, Allout Helter is always busy dominating whatever stage they're on, one audience member at a time, with their intense and engaging live show. With nods from the Westword as one of Denver's top punk acts, shows within the burgeoning Denver punk scene and alongside lauded and soon-to-be legendary touring acts from all over the country, and slots on festivals like the Underground Music Showcase, Way Out West Fest and the Summergrind Music Festival, Allout Helter continually prove why they are one of the most sought after bands in Denver.
Cheap Perfume are a feminist punk rock band that formed in 2015 in Colorado. They’re fun. They’re angry. They’re dirty, foul-mouthed and unapologetic.
Through lyrics written by singers “Jane No” and Stephanie Byrne, Cheap Perfume explore topics of equality, sex, relationships, violence and politics. Stephanie’s shout-singing and aggressive stage presence drive live performances that excite and empower audiences. While playing her loud, fuzzy electric guitar, Jane sings catchy melodies that complement Stephanie’s sass talk. David “Hot Dave” Grimm’s heavy drumming and Geoff Brent’s powerful bass lines deliver straight-up punk rock that’s influenced by riot grrrl, pop and metal.
The band released their first full-length album, “Nailed It,” in November 2016. The satirical song “Dogs Against Dog Hollerin’” explores what it would be like if women talked to men the way men talked to women. “Trump Roast” skewers a recent political disaster. And “Slut Game Strong” celebrates a woman’s freedom to be promiscuous despite the double standard. (The girls tried to write a sweet love song once but gave up quickly.)
Cheap Perfume play around Denver and Colorado Springs, where they love to see crowds having just as much fun as they’re having onstage drinking champagne and flirting with one another.
