Hell is Filled with musical amateurs, music is "The Whiskey of the Damned"

The Whiskey of the Damned is a five piece Celtic influenced rock group put together by Ireland native Eoin McCarthy. Located in Milwaukee WI, The Whiskey of the Damned are a fast rising group of talented musicians dedicated to playing high energy, raucous concerts filled with an unmistakable mixture of American and Irish rock. The band is currently recording their debut album to be released tentatively this summer and booking a full summer and fall tour, which even though the band is relatively new has already landed prime spots in festivals such as Milwaukee's Summerfest, Manhattan Illinois Irish fest, and Milwaukee Irish Fest to name a few. Described as a mix of The pogues, Dropkick Murphy's, and Flogging Molly you do not want to miss this act perform live.
Fronted by Eoin McCarthy and Blaine McQuinn, the show never stops. Eoin has been lucky enough to be in a host of other bands and shared bills with or opened for the likes of The violent Femms, Dropkick Murphy's Bucket head, Van Hunt, Gin Blossoms, Dinosaur Jr. Soul Asylum, even Flyleaf. And has been featured in movies such as The Harley 100th on brand x films, The last Dispatch and acted in a pilot for ABC called "Playback". Blaine also plays with one of the foremost country music acts in the mid-west called "The Cathouse Drifters" an extremely talented musician he plays Bagpipes, Violin, Guitar, Fiddle, mandolin, and banjo to name a few. And now With Micheal Favaro on the Accordion, Shawn Hoffman on Bass Guitar, and Tim McQuinn on drums from Whitewater, the energy is pretty unstoppable.

Kevin Flynn & The Avondale Ramblers

"We're a Chicago-Irish band." That's how front man Kevin Flynn best describes the Celtic inspired sound of Kevin Flynn and The Avondale Ramblers. Based out of the Avondale neighborhood on Chicago's north side, KF & The Ramblers bring a rollicking take on Gaelic music that reflects the working-class, religious, drunken, sometimes violent (yet always somewhat beautiful) aspects of their city. Though the band's sound is steeped in the influence of traditional Irish music, their songs are anything but traditional…

"We kind of look at our music the same way Led Zeppelin looked at theirs," says Flynn. "The basis of their sound was the blues – but they expanded on it. They took it into new and interesting areas. That's what we try to do with Celtic/Gaelic music." It's certainly something they accomplish. Country, folk, gospel and rock seem to meld seamlessly with their Irish tunes. The lyrical perspective is also unique: "We're from here – so our songs are about Chicago, not Ireland," continues Flynn. "Instead of singing about Ireland's pubs, rolling fields and characters we sing about the Harp & Shamrock, Michigan Avenue and Mayor Daley. We don't sing with a brogue – we sing with our Midwestern accents."

Along with lead singer/guitarist Kevin Flynn, the Avondale Ramblers are comprised of a stellar cast of veteran players from the Chicago music scene including members of MILLION YEN, NASH KATO BAND and MARY TYLER MORPHINE.
