PYRRHON (pronounced "peeron") is an experimental metal band from New York City. They formed in 2008 after a chance meeting on a subway platform, and have been honing their increasingly twisted take on the genre ever since. They have four official releases to their name so far: 2009's Fever Kingdoms EP, 2011's An Excellent Servant But A Terrible Master, 2014's The Mother Of Virtues, and 2015's Growth Without End EP. They have also recorded two demos and toured extensively in North America and Europe.
Nick Sakes (ex-Dazzling Killmen, Colossamite, Sicbay) and Chrissy Rossettie (ex-My Name Is Rar-Rar, The Hex) met at Chicago's Fireside Bowl back in 2001, when Sicbay shared a bill with Rossettie's former band, the head-spinning neo–No Wave outfit My Name Is Rar-Rar. Flash forward to '09, when Sakes (then living in Minneapolis) and the Brooklyn-based Rossettie reconnected online and struck up a long-distance romance. Soon Sakes headed east, and within a few months, the pair had hatched a new musical entity, named Xaddax in honor of their shared love of "palindromes and pointy letters." A flurry of live shows commenced. - Hank Shteamer
