The Willies

Jen Jones (The Camaros) and Dave Willie (9 Parts Devil, Jet Black Factory, CPS) team up to create a genre busting vehicle for new songs and a stellar Nashville band. Dave, an upright bass playing front guy with a punk-rock pedigree, and Jen, the sweet and sexy pro. on piano and guitar, parlay fantastic chemistry into a show filled with harmonies and hi-jinks. After three years touring with her NYC outfit, The Camaros (originally a swing band, sporting sales of 5000 plus of their first CD ) Jen landed in Nashville - playing classic country and rockabilly, every Wed. @ Layla’s, lower Broadway, for four hours at a stretch. Meeting Dave, born and raised in Nashville, was an inspiration- a guy with great song-writing skills, and critical acclaim, he got her to push the lyrics into a more modern, thoughtful. vein. Audience response to his 'high lonesome tenor blending with her soul drenched alto was that they had something special. Unwilling to be pigeon-holed into one genre The Willies’ shows are customized for the venue with an impressive catalog of obscure, and surprisingly covers, peppered with beloved classics and great originals. The musicians are exceptional- Carco Clave ex member of Asleep at the Wheel, and touring member of BR549 makes most of the gigs, and his pedal steel, mandolin, and guitar playing are the very thing that makes bands out of Nashville the real deal, Kirstin Weber (David Mayfield Parade) brings jazz fiddle to the country stuff and traditional to the jazz songs. The perfect marriage of influences, this is a band that knows how to make Roots music swing.
