Brendan O'Shea

Originally from Killarney in the South West of Ireland, singer-songwriter Brendan O'Shea moved to the United States in the late 90's. Since then, he has become a veteran of New York City's songwriter scene and has released three albums garnering him praise from critics and press around the world. HIs music can be heard in such films as Ron Howard's Oscar nominated film Backdraft, the wildly successful Karen Gehres indie-doc Begging Naked, and the ABC docu-drama Boston Med. Most recently, Brendan's was invited to record a concert for the XM Radio show From the Living Room to the Loft keeping the momentum going on what is already a prolific career. In addition to headlining his own shows in both the United States and Europe, Brendan has embarked on three tours of Japan in collaboration with the Trinity Dance Troupe as well as sharing stages with the likes of The Frames/Swell Season, Ike Reilly, Elliott Smith, and Interpol to name but a few.  In 2007 Brendan became a founding member of Fairplay Collective, a unique endeavor in which songwriters have come together to support and promote each other's individual projects as independent artists. A lover of music of all kinds, Brendan and friends Karl Geary (Sin-e) and Pete Olshansky also host a successful Sunday night concert series in NYC's East Village. Now in it's sixth year, The Scratcher Sessions features seasoned and upcoming talent from around the world. Brendan is currently writing songs for his his fourth full length album,a follow up to Songs From A Tenement, his last release. playing shows in the USA. Expect to see his live show at festivals in the USA ,IRL , GERMANY, HOLLAND and JAPAN during the spring, , summer and fall of 2014.
