Glitter Freeze, Valved Voice

Started in 2010 by then 21-year-old singer/songwriter and bassist Heather Elle, the New York City trio Glitter Freeze perfectly captures the synthrock underground. Elle's vocals beguile like an unfiltered Siouxsie Sioux, and she often describes their sound as "Robert Smith and Madonna's awkward lovechild - a pop backbone decorated with dissonant and minimalistic guitar." After a few line-up changes, Elle has chosen college classmate and guitarist Eric G. and drummer Tony Parlato. Together they have permeated the synthrock of 25 years earlier, pulling from their New Wave, Post-Punk, and British rock roots - both past and present.
Valved Voice
sounds like "the orphaned love child of phil spector & kate bush adopted by karen o & kurt cobain & godfather tom waits"
