RESPECT - Drum & Bass (Priority Entry)

LA's Longest Running Drum and Bass Weekly! [est.1999]

Most of us first heard Remarc when darkside anthem Ricky was released back in ’93. He went on to produce some of the most rinsing jungle imaginable, becoming the ultimate don of the Amen break. His releases on Suburban Base, Kemet, Street Tuff, Dollar and White House are all sought-after classics and now that drum’n’bass has turned into 2-step, clownstep and liquid, and all you young’uns think that Squarepusher invented the Amen break mash-up, that’s why we’ve re-released them on the Sound Murderer album. Stop press! We got part 2 – the Unreleased Dubs ’94-’96 – still rinsing, just not yet classics.

Manchester DJ & producer Djinn (pronounced "jinn") has been a regular on the UK & North West underground scene since 2004.

Dropping sets at illegal raves and club nights since the age of 17, Djinn’s evolving style spans a 12 year journey starting in breakbeats; first crossing to 2000 dnb before reverting to 90’s jungle & oldskool hardcore, later transitioning early dubstep years through to a mixture aggressive & sparse 140 before finally reaching a current-day precision of brooding minimal drum & bass, deep rolling beats & dark menacing amenism.

Over the years Djinn has dropped her distinctive selection at countless nights across the UK & reached overseas since 2007, playing in countries such as The Netherlands, Belgium, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Spain, Croatia, Sweden, Germany, Ireland, Turkey and the UAE.

Resident Drum and Bass DJ at Los Angeles' longest running DnB club, RESPECT (est.1999). Member of Los Angeles' original jungle crew, JUNGLIST PLATOON (est.1994).
