Louis The Child
In the rapidly expanding EDM industry, producer/DJ duo Louis The Child has been on the rise. Members Robby Hauldren and Freddy Kennett, natives of Chicago, have seen recent success with their new single “It’s Strange” and their subsequent national tour. The duo has become very popular despite their young ages — Hauldren is a freshman majoring in music industry and Kennett is still in high school. However, Louis The Child often performs in clubs they would otherwise not even be old enough to enter. In April, the duo will complete their first national tour with performances at Coachella.
Santa Cruz producer G Jones has captivated young audiences across North America with his playful and expansive take on broken beat dance music. His live show weaves an ever expanding catalog of heavy knocking hip hop beats, cross- genre experiments, and expansive melodic riffs in a way that illuminates and drives the dance floor. With his irreverent attitude toward unimaginative EDM, this young producer pushes the envelope and blurs the lines between musical styles while maintaining a meticulous balance of minimal space and heavy bass. His latest release Eyes (available on Robox Neotech) is an audacious energy enhancer comprised of premium West Coast bass music, a swift collection of cross-genre experiments and dubbed-out sub bass monsters designed for the dance floor. This playful EP illustrates the artist's signature reverb style with bulbous basslines, pulverized vocals and unexpected adulterations of spaced-out sounds.G Jones has recently garnered attention from several highly acclaimed producers, with his beats appearing in mixes by Pretty Lights, Zeds Dead and DJ Shadow on BBC's "Diplo and Friends" program. Touring heavily in Europe and hitting U.S. festivals from Coachella to Symbiosis Gathering this Summer, G Jones generates music dosed with an undeniable sense of freedom and fun.
The Brothers Comatose
Expansive, uplifting, and just downright beautiful, City Painted Gold is one of the most anticipated records of the coming year – at least amongst the loyal fans The Brothers Comatose had won while touring across the country in support of their past two releases. Infused with a sense of relaxed, experienced confidence, The Brothers Comatose offer a southwestern-tinged, rowdy stringband sound that might just make this your new favorite record before you turn it over to side B. Walking lockstep with their undeniable top-flight musicianship is an easy humility. “It’s just one, big, extended Morrison music party,” they say. Brothers Ben and Alex Morrison, guitar and banjo, and lead vocalists, front this rocking string band that has become a West coast headliner and national touring act in a mere handful of years. With bassmaster Gio Benedetti and stellar accompanists Philip Brezina on fiddle and Ryan Avellone on mandolin, their high energy, audience engaging shows have caught fire with fans from San Diego to Seattle to Salt Lake to Silk Hope, NC and beyond.
“It all sort of started before we ever picked up instruments” explains Ben. “Our mom was in a folk quartet that sang beautiful songs in harmony. Alex and I would watch them rehearse for hours when we were kids.” Growing up around band rehearsals and music parties, the Morrison brothers eventually found themselves with instruments in their hands. Ben started playing on his dad’s acoustic guitar and Alex happened upon a banjo that someone had left behind after a household music party.
The brothers learned a mess of classic rock covers, playing casually in their living room and around campfires (and at those famous Morrison music parties) for the next few years. Eventually their genre of choice drifted to broad-stoke Americana and a buddy asked them to come record a few tunes in his garage. Their friend Benedetti had been studying upright bass and they called him up for the session. He couldn’t make it that day but shortly after they all began playing together. They needed a few more good players to round out their sound, and the brothers put up fliers all around San Francisco. A few people answered, including Philip Brezina, at the time pursuing a Master’s degree in violin performance at the Conservatory of Music. “When he showed up, I thought, who the hell is this guy?” says Ben. “He’s kind of a redneck but he’s getting his masters in classical violin. Turned out to work pretty well.” Avellone had shared bills with the Brothers a few times over the years in other bands and was a perfect fit. Ben called him up, and “next thing you know, he’s our mandolin player.”
Soon enough they put the axe to the grindstone, releasing two critically acclaimed records in Songs From The Stoop (2010) and Respect the Van (2012). Those releases led to extended tours with Devil Makes Three, Yonder Mountain String Band and Lake Street Dive, which in turn led to their own headlining club tours and festival appearances including the likes of High Sierra, Delfest, Outsidelands and Pickathon.
When it came to write their third record, the now-seasoned road warriors returned to their home of fourteen years in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco. “We wrote this album living in San Francisco as it was changing from a weird, art friendly mecca to a place that only super rich tech workers could afford,” tells Ben. “Things started changing – venues were closing down, and artist and musician friends moved away. What is San Francisco without its weirdos? That’s what the song City Painted Gold is about and that’s why it’s the name of this record.” Shortly after completing the record, The Brothers Comatose themselves joined the ranks of the displaced.
Eviction brings change, and change inspires creativity. When our heroes got booted from their home city of over a decade, they did not despair – no! They wrote a new and wonderful album. If our heroes maintain their current trajectory we should all be really rather excited about what the future holds.
The M Machine
Hyper-creative and sophisticated in craft, San Francisco-based electronic act The M Machine bring a rare mix of genre-bending ingenuity and refined musicianship to every
element of their musical output. With their most recent EP—the five-song 'Just Like', released on Skrillex's OWSLA label in November 2014—vocalist/composer/producers Ben
Swardlick and Eric Luttrell deliver a deeply melodic and infectiously upbeat take on underground house. Not only a dramatic departure from their darkly charged earlier work, 'Just Like' finds The M Machine abandoning all EDM convention and creating a vocal propelled, indie-minded breed of dance music that hinges on pure emotion and unbridled
energy. As with their many much-acclaimed remixes (such as their official reworkings of Bruno
Mars's "Locked Out Of Heaven," Passion Pit's "Take a Walk," and Empire of the Sun's
"DNA"), the latest step in The M Machine's artistic progression is both intensely club-oriented
and boldly inventive. Revealing a supreme grasp of rhythm and groove honed in part from
their lengthy live experience (including support slots on tours with artists like Porter Robinson
and The Glitch Mob), 'Just Like' infuses The M Machine's delicate balance of artistry and
emotionalism into everything from the heady, bass-heavy throb of the title track to the hearton-sleeve
dream-pop of "Over/Love" to the sunny, spaced-out synth of "Don't Speak."
Both lifelong music obsessives who'd played piano and guitar since they were kids,
Swardlick and Luttrell began experimenting with making melody-driven electronic music as
students at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Though each brought his own distinct
sensibilities to the collaboration—Luttrell grew up on new wave, West Coast hip-hop, and
early-'90s alt-rock, while Swardlick's key inspirations include Gorillaz and the early electronic
sounds of Herbie Hancock—the two bonded over a shared belief in prizing musicality over
production finesse. Soon after graduating and moving to San Francisco, The M Machine
crossed paths with Skrillex, showed their music to the six-time Grammy Award-winner, and
ended up signed to his just-launched label by 2011. In April 2012, OWSLA put out The M
Machine's 'Metropolis Pt. I', a concept EP inspired by Fritz Lang's groundbreaking 1927 sci-fi
film. Like 'Metropolis Pt. 2' (a follow-up EP released in February 2013), The M Machine's
debut drew from the movie's dystopian vision and constructed a lush but brooding sound that
garnered serious critical praise and—along with the group's appearances at major festivals
like Electric Daisy Carnival, Ultra Music Festival, and Tomorrowland—helped the group gain
a massive following.
For much of the first five years of The M Machine's lifespan, Swardlick and Luttrell holed up
in a warehouse/recording studio that was once home to arena-rock legends Journey and—
under The M Machine's wing—eventually evolved into an a collective of visual artists,
engineers, and designers who shared their DIY ethic and restless creativity. The duo
continue to sustain the passion for constant innovation that's powered the project since the
beginning. And no matter how the mood of their music changes over the years, The M
Machine remain committed to building their sound around a strong emotional core. "We're
proud to have a fan base as creative and taste-driven as we are." says Swardlick. Luttrell

The Coffis Brothers
We are brothers. One of whom strums on a guitar, blows on a harmonica and sings, the other also sings, while at the same time banging the living hell out of a keyboard. If you ever visit the area, you'll know why we're in such a good mood.

Turns out you can teach an old BARE, new tricks. Sean Rodela also known as 'BARE', hails from East LA, a 4th generation Mexican American, who was raised in Los Angeles' historic rave scene. BARE was one of the lucky few that made it from growing up on the wrong side of the tracks, as he began to express himself, playing in bands and hip-hop groups until he found his one love, Electronic Music. Over a decade ago 12th Planet and he began to experiment in DNB, loosing their producing virginities together. Bare was dreaming of creating a better life and not having to worry about having electricity or heat while growing up. Sean originally found his sound in the early days of dub-step as a poster child for the Sub-human label and for co-producing 'King Kong' with Datsik.
As dub-step declined, a more mature BARE began experimenting in different sounds. He immediately regained a flood of happy memories into his creativity after dabbling in different genres from the stereo typical angry "bro-step" sound. BARE came to the realization that he just wanted to make people dance. Over the past year, rebuilding, rebranding and growing rapidly as an artist and as a person as a whole, Sean is now becoming one of the most sought after producer/ DJs in the business. He has amassed an incredibly long discography now being filled with 128 BPM.
The new house prodigy has large cache of original "BARE TRACKS", collaborations/remixes on some of the world's most coveted House Music Labels such as Dim Mak, Spinnin', CR2 and soon to be Hysteria Recordings. He has collabs/remixes with such names as Sebastian Ingrosso, Alesso, Tommy Trash, Nicky Romero, Calvin Harris, Carnage, DJ Snake, Mercer, and Borgeous. Bare prides an extensive list of the worlds biggest names such as David Guetta, R3HAB, Steve Aoki, Hardwell, Porter Robsinson, Zeds Dead, Carnage, Adventure Club, Krewella, 12th Planet, and Kill the Noise that show love via track support which are played at the worlds best festivals, and nightclubs as well as BBC's Radio1, Essential Mixes, Sirius Radio and Kiss FM.
Grinding back from the bottom, BARE's sets have become extreme, mind blowing rollercoaster rides as he takes his audience on a journey through original "BARE EDITS", and his dynamic DJ-ing skills. Sean is receiving more world wide attention as his new explosive "BARE TRACKS" have bass lines and drops like no other producer in the game and without a fail gets an entire crowd raved up! His new mating sound is a fusion of Dutch house, Progressive house, "BARE TRAP, BARE BASS" and the rapidly growing Big Room Bass sound that fills speakers all over the world.
BARE's fast growing and fiercely loyal "BARE CUBS" Fan Base are a combination of old bass fans, to his new and rapidly growing "non genre specific" house music fans including some famous pop producers itching to work with him.
BARE is on a small list of bass producers that are successfully making the cross over, he realizes that he has a long road ahead of him and is ready to fight and claw for what is rightfully his. His advice he offers to his fans is, always dream big and never let anyone tell you can't reach them. As this kid with the intoxicating teddy Bare like smile who's from the wrong side of town keeps smiling, as he knows there's only one direction for his destiny, and that is up!

Singer-songwriter and Electronic music producer. To many that might sound like two very different aspects of modern sound culture - which in turn makes Monolink a fascinating character, because he's both rolled into one. His style seamlessly connects the narrative structure of a song with the compelling forward thrust of electronic rhythms. Guitar chords merge into synthetic pad sounds, hypnotic bass vibrations meet emotional vocal parts, passionate physicality meets sublime stimulation for the mind.
Steffen Linck comes from a background that is often described with the wonderfully vague term "guitar music". North American Folk, Blues... he's never committed to a single style. And as much as he loves his guitar as a faithful companion on his musical journey – the songs composed for this instruments have a certain flaw. Thanks to melodic structure and the additional use of the human voice they have the power to tell a story - but all too often it's just a very short pleasure. That's why the Berlin based producer is fascinated by another genre that is synonymous with endurance: Electronic Dance Music. Its hypnotic rhythms create a very physical dance experience during long party nights. Already being active as a DJ besides his activity as guitarist and singer in various bands, it's an obvious idea to connect both principles with each other.
A typical Monolink production evolves around a song written on his guitar. It serves as the backbone for percussions, samples, and vocal parts which are usually recorded during spontaneous jam sessions. When performing live he plays this original song in real-time, putting emphasis on a listening experience that is as clean and smooth as possible. The result has great impact on the dance floor, both in terms of sound and stage appearance. Monolink stirs serious euphoria at Fusion, Fuchsbau and 3000° Festival, as well as many other open airs. Also his gigs at trend-setting clubs of Berlin, like Ritter Butzke, Sisyphos or Keller, are highly applauded. In September 2014 a remix that has been produced together with Be.Svendsen climbs to the Top 20 of Beatport's Electronica charts, in the beginning of 2015 he joins forces with the kindred soul of Acid Pauli for his "The End" EP. Speaking of kindred souls: Of course the open-minded crossover style of Monolink makes him a perfect match for the illustrious 3000° collective.
When he wasn't watching Yo MTV Raps or Pump It up, Scarub, like many other L.A. hip-hop heads, grew up listening to the all hip-hop radio station, KDAY. It was during these early years that Scarub first gave himself the name Quaz (The kid who did), and later Mudd Foot, before settling on Scarub as his mc moniker. Scarub first hit the stage during an 8th grade talent show and he hasn't looked back since. As a student at L.A.'s Hamilton High, Scarub hooked up with fellow students Eligh and Murs and the trio formed the 3 Meloncholy Gypsy's or 3MG. Scarub like the rest of 3MG eventually made the move up to the bay area where he hooked up with Mystik Journeymen and was put down with the Living Legends crew.

The Redlight District
The Redlight District is a psychedelic rock and roll quartet from Santa Cruz California. Their frenetic live performances blend elements of delta blues, jazz melody, and soul, weaving meticulously embellished, percussive guitar lines with dynamically intricate rock-organ. Thompson brings a relentless battery of off-kilter rhythms to the table, locking in with Leitner’s bass hooks. These provide a backdrop for Sams’ baritone croon, which moves from tranquil melody into peaking, manic wails. Originally forming in Monterey County, they completed their lineup in Santa Cruz and have gone on to perform up and down California, garnering a dedicated and rapidly growing following around the central coast. They have since opened for larger touring acts like Menomena, performed radio appearances on KZSC, and were voted one of the top bands to see at the Santa Cruz Music Festival by the SC Weekly in 2013. Their first release is the Dirty Magazine EP.
Mammatus is a band from the outer reaches of Santa Cruz County, California. Taking our name from the heaviest cloud found on our home planet, Mammatus harness instruments and amplifiers with the brave intent of transforming the natural beauty and massive fury that lies in the earth into acoustic energy. The sound that results from these explorations is an aural adventure, a sonic quest through the outer reaches of the natural and spiritual worlds. Mammatus use ROCK music in an effort to communicate with our fellow humans, because it the most overwhelmingly exciting and powerful sound we have discovered so far. We ROCK because we must! There is no medium more mind melting, more body banging, more…AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRHHHHHH!!!! than pure, LOUD, HEAVY, INSANE ROCK AND ROLL! That is why we must use every resource available; push our minds and bodies to the outer limits, so that we can make sure we are exciting ourselves and others with new, creative, pure, adventurous ROCK music. We play it how we like it, really really loud, lots of ridiculous guitar leads, thick heavy headbangin' riffs, proggy groovin', and plenty of weird stuff. We're doing the best we can, honestly. We love to rock and we do it for YOU. We want you to feel this thing that we feel. Just let yourself smile as wide as you can, let your mind EXPLODE! DANCE! JUMP! SCREAM! We're exploring. Rock and roll exploring. Let's go exploring together.

While pursuing his solo project, Good Health, he crossed paths with local drummer, Ben Rosett, who was playing with a local band called The Trees. Press "play" on Slow Season's second full-length album MOUNTAINS, and you might just forget what era you're in. It could very well be the sixties, seventies, or now. It almost doesn't matter though because this is hypnotic, heavy, and howling rock 'n' roll that defies both musical and temporal categorization.
The Central California quartet – Daniel Rice (vocals, guitar), David Kent (guitar), Hayden Doyel (bass), and Cody Tarbell (drums) – scale new heights, while recognising where it all began.
"I'd love for people to wonder if this record is actually from 1969," grins Cody. "We wanted to capture that spirit. That was the goal."
In order to do so, the musicians holed up in Cody's home studio, which actually doubles as his parents' garage, and cut Mountains ten tracks throughout the course of early 2014. Hayden had just returned home from a short detour at college in Idaho before recognizing he belonged jamming with his brothers. Officially back in the fold, excitement to record proved pervasive. Moving when inspiration struck, they actually recorded the songs live on reel-to-reel tape. Eschewing the digital mindset of today and not even uttering the words "Pro Tools", everything was caught on analog, giving the music a crackling kinetic energy.
"I like everything associated with reel-to-reel," Cody goes on. "I love the sound. I like the mojo that comes along with it."
"Working with the limitations of tape really pushed us to play our best," adds Daniel. "You have to prioritize your ideas. You can't layer too much on there. You also have to nail the takes. You don't get to go back and cut paste. You have to feel it when you're playing it. When everything comes together, it really shines because we're all playing together on tape."
They lock in during the album opener and first single, Sixty-Eight. It snaps into a bluesy riff and bombastic beat before Daniel lets out a soaring refrain and a screeching solo roars. "We wanted to nod back to Led Zeppelin," the vocalist says. "We managed to get this really big sound in the garage. It's very organic and natural. The subject matter is pretty gnarly, and I'd encourage everyone to take a close listen to the lyrics."
That mystique carries over to the hazy Synanon, which details the exploits of a mountain cult nearby where the boys reside. Meanwhile, Endless Mountain drives forward on robust guitars and propulsive drums. It also reflects the overarching theme inherent within the title.
"Mountains embody a few things," explains Daniel. "They're difficult, seemingly insurmountable, and bigger than us. They're both foreboding and beautiful at the same time. I had been doing a lot of hiking and backpacking in the higher Sierra Nevada. It all fit together. We live right next to Sequoia National Park, and we go up there all the time. We connect with the idea of man versus nature."
SLOW SEASON first emerged in 2012 with their self-titled debut. Supported by shows throughout California and nationally, they began to garner palpable buzz. Now, Mountains kicks off their next chapter. However, they'll continue to exist within an epoch of their own.
Daniel leaves off, "I want people to walk away knowing there's integrity behind the music, the process, the words being sung, and the notes being played. We love what we do, and we hope that listeners do too."

Kat Myers & The Buzzards
Kat Myers wandered the globe solo for half a year before she found herself in Los Angeles on an extended layover in late 2012 and decided to stay. She was unemployed and unsure of the future but had a notebook full of tunes. The Ohio native began playing solo gigs around town and quickly gained a local following with her quick-witted and sincere songs.
Myers' started searching for a band, which eventually led her to drummer Johnny Elkins. At the time Elkins' own band, Ivory Deville, was holding auditions for a back-up singer. Though Myers did not get the spot, she and Elkins immediately hit it off. They started booking shows as a two-piece all over southern California and along the way met guitarist Elliott Beenk.
With the band in place, 2015 marked a whirlwind of a year for the trio. They have since toured along the west coast and played Echo Park Rising, Make Music Pasadena and Sofar Sounds. The band has also been featured on sites including Jam In The Van, Free Bike Valet, and Badass Bands Blog.
Though it is early into what will undoubtedly be a long and illustrious career, Kat Myers & The Buzzards are already earning themselves a reputation as a "bona fide rock 'n' roll band…[that] concocts a soulful blend of solid rhythms as if summoned from the dust on a vinyl crate of classic rock." (Free Bike Valet) Myers' roots in classic rock can be clearly heard in the EP's rollicking melodies, while her tongue-in-cheek lyrics point to her punk influences.
With a new album in the works and more shows on the horizon, Kat Myers & The Buzzards are sure to continue capturing ears and hearts with their wit and charm.

The Getaway Dogs
Getaway Dogs is the brainchild of songwriter Kai Killion, a Bay Area native who spent the first twelve years of his life in constant motion. The son of a Californian artist and a Brazilian immigrant, Killion was born in the States but spent his baby years in post-war Eritrea. His family returned to California, spending seven years in Santa Cruz, then moving up the coast to rural Point Reyes. They would eventually leave the US again, this time to spend a year living in Rio de Janeiro. It was during this year in Brazil, surrounded by a heavily musical family, that Killion came in touch with his Brazilian heritage and learned to play guitar. All the places he has lived and traveled have collectively imprinted in him a unique style of musicianship, lending natural roots to jazz, folk, soul, and Brazilian music.
Killion's first record, Mermaid Legs & Getaway Dogs, an acoustic solo project released in 2013, subsequently led to the formation of what is now Getaway Dogs, for which Killion recruited long time friend Samantha Stone to sing harmonies and occasional lead vocals. Though the rhythm section has rotated various times over the last two years, Stone remains a crucial component to the band’s ethereal, soulful sound. Her presence is felt heavily on their debut record, Lost In The Ebb, projected to release in August 2016.

Once this mixture has hardened, he combines it with his Square-Shaped Sub Bass, samples from his grandmother's vinyl, and excerpts of viral youtube videos. All this is served with a side of Crunk Dopesauce, and is complimented by his very own apple fig gorgonzola parsnip glaze. Now this dance floor heater is ready to go in the oven! Simply heat, stir, peel, rotate and enjoy! He totes this concoction worldwide for exposure to every set of earbuds! Unfortunately, on his last trip to southeast asia, he was diagnosed with a serious case of the Bamboo Clap, and he uses an Ahi dijon aloha island pummice scrub to alleviate his sonic soft spot. Armed with Ableton Live, his KAOSS pad, an EMX-1, and his ability to make you laugh, DownsquareZ is sure to bring even the most musically prude person to eargasm. Due to the aforementioned bit about the Bamboo Clap, he is required to recommend earplugs to those who listen to his music. Rave Safe, and Enjoy!!!

Benjah Ninjah (Benjamin Gilbert) is from South Lake Tahoe Ca. He has been blessed with a passion to share his idea of what music means to him! While he explores all genres of music, he focuses on glitch hop, world (middle easten and asian) sounds, up beat half-steppin, psychedelic crunk, and anything else that makes him dance (in weird ways hehe)! By mixing drum beats/bass to vocals and equalizing the frequencies he creates new sounds out of the originals. Still young in the game, Benjah Ninjah has been working hard to develop his own sound and has been enjoying playing in North - South Lake Tahoe, Reno and parts of Northern Ca. He would like to thank Fresh Bakin', Soulstice sound, Mindful Massive, Bass Heavy, Wurk (Reno), Community Projeckt, Blockhead Productions, and Dublounge Productions for giving him the opportunity to express himself. He also appreciates his friends and family who have supported and inspired him throughout his journey! Much Luv and Bless!
Lubelski’s pursuit of creating funky bass lines and unique grooves has remained consistent since he was but a boy. Teenage angst and a dissatisfaction with mainstream sounds plunged him into the vast world of electronic music. A decade of shaping tones and textures has led him to conquer different instruments and fields of study that make him the artist that he is today.

ROSBY (Ross McCafferty) is a propulsive musical force—an imaginative & technique-driven percussionist who marries his skills on the drum kit with his deeply layered, cerebral, yet still danceable work as a downtempo producer/DJ.
ROSBY’s obsession with precise arrangement & thoughtful composition is informed by his 20 years of training as a serious Jazz & Latin percussionist. At age 7, McCafferty began his first lessons in earnest with Andy Weis, a disciple of legendary big band drummer & bandleader Louis Bellson. Weis shepherded McCafferty into the Monterey Jazz Festival’s youth education program, a talent incubator that has produced stars of the rank of Donny McCaslin, Ambrose Akinmusire and Joshua Redman. In the summers, he received guidance from SF “first call” drummer Vince Lateano (Cal Tjader, Chet Baker, Stan Getz) and clinics with Berklee professor & vibraphonist Gary Burton, violin virtuoso Regina Carter, master saxophonist Wynton Marsalis, and pre-eminent vocalist Kurt Elling.

A Thousand Shall Fall
Emerging as a duo in the Summer of 2010 with the musical engineering prowess of Kevin Loftus and the guitar styling's of Dhruva Noel, A Thousand Shall Fall was a metal-based recording group with hopes of gaining a few more members and turning it into the real thing. In late August the duo became a formidable trio with the addition of Daniel Johnston, a highly skilled guitarist previously part of various local bands such as Descending Forth and others. With the addition of Dan A.T.S.F. found a direction for their music and added an important piece to their onslaught. In late 2010 Jesse Williams joined on vocals, and in early 2011 Gena Krupa joined the band to finalize the A.T.S.F. lineup. Currently in the process of composing, booking, and recording the band's sound is strongly melodic while simultaneously staying true to the heavy hitting rhythms they've all grown fond of. Keep your eyes and ears open for some upcoming tracks on Myspace.

In May of 2010, Kat Downs and Mike Thompson teamed up to experiment with the combination of classical piano and rock drumming. Described as "The Dresden Dolls mixed with Muse and PJ Harvey", their music also reflects evidence of Zeppelin, Beethoven, Rush and Rachmaninoff. Kat Downs' ornate hands and hair flying matched with Mike Thompson's percussive mastery makes this duo the consummate definition of a "dream-team". No holds barred, this group produces addictive rock n' roll - with only two people and not one guitar in sight.
Lungs & Limbs
Lungs and Limbs are an alt pop band from the San Francisco Bay Area. Known for their thick, hip-hop-and-80's-inspired beats, cowboy guitar licks and hook-laden vocals, the quartet's debut EP Lifelike (2015), written and recorded in a horse stable, garnered positive press from critics in the Bay Area, Boston, LA, Germany and beyond. Do the Bay describes Lungs and Limbs as "...a tight, clean sound that is refreshing to hear in a sea of lo-fi garage rock that seems to sometimes dominate the local music scene in SF." On June 17 Lungs and Limbs will debut Less Ordinary, the first single from their upcoming follow-up EP, Big Bang, with a release party at Neck of the Woods in San Francisco.

The group started as a jam session back in 2014 with current members Max Martinez, and Codie Collins. Originally Codie was drumming for a group called Rogues that met moderate local success and played shows up and down California. Max met Codie through a friend, at one of his shows, where Codie was opening up for Circa Survive. Max, having above average drum skills, and a space to jam, invited Codie and a few others to a monthly jam. Slowly Max & Codie realized they may have had something to work on for the future.. However, Max took a year off and traveled Europe and practiced music across the pond. Meanwhile, Codie continued to play drums in Rogues (his former band). Codie met Giovann Najeh, who frequently came to shows, and hosted Rogues practices at his house. Giovann and Codie jammed from time to time and liked what they played. They both agreed that they’d write music together in the future. Time passed and through several conflicting ideas, and business disagreements, Codie left Rogues & hung up drumming. He then sold his gear and bought a guitar and amp and began writing music. Before Max left for Europe, he jammed a few times with a bass player named Matt Stolling. Max introduced Codie to Matt before leaving for Europe, thus establishing the rhythm section of the jam group. A few months after Max returned, the jams picked back up. After awhile the group decided to begin looking for another guitar player. Codie took it upon himself to ask his friend Giovann to come out and jam with the group. They instantly meshed and slowly but surely a band was forming. The final addition to solidify the lineup came shortly after Giovann began attending the jams. Matt suggested giving his friend Nic Tesi the opportunity to come out and play with the group. Matt & Nic had been in bands together off and on growing up, so the new addition was very natural. Within just a short couple months of playing together, songs were forming and a general structured practice schedule was established. Sometime in April of 2015 the group united under the name ‘Wee Beasties’ and has since then been establishing itself as a promising act rising up out of Central California. The first show the band played was a support slot for southern California band, Gardens & Villa, who has toured with the likes of Broken Bells. With little time to prepare, the band managed to gather a relatively packed night. It was a great way to kick off the band and the local scene was catching word of the new bands stage presence and polished songs and musicianship. Shortly after the show the band released several songs, and played its second show out of town. The show was in Visalia in support of the band ‘Banta’ (Los Angeles area). The show went well and considering the odds, they managed to pull a decent night for the club. Before the band played its next show, which was also another out of town show in Bakersfield Ca, things took a turn. Between all of the momentum the band was gaining, and positive feedback, there was a rift among the members. Because of unmovable differences between Codie and Matt, Matt decided it was time for him to leave ‘Wee Beasties’. Shortly after Matt left, the band began the search for a new bassist. As luck would have it, a bassist named Nick Merrick volunteered to step in. He was in another band called Sharks of Dance, a local up and coming band based out of Fresno. Merrick quickly learned the songs and got up to speed with the group. The first show the band played with the new lineup was at Grizzly Fest. The show went seamlessly perfect in most all ways! Right after that show, the band had their first headline show at Strummers with an all local lineup. With only two weeks of promotion, the band managed to just about sell out the club. Since then, the band played its final local event, (summer sweat fest) and is now focusing on out of town shows. Currently the band is playing all west coast dates, and establishing its draw in California and surrounding areas. The band will be recording another EP this fall, and releasing it in early spring.

Originating as a group of Mt. Airy friends jamming on Dead tunes and providing the musical accompaniment to the early Dara's Defense Ovarian Cancer fundraising events, The Defenders now perform regularly all over the busy northwest Philly rock and roll club, house party and fundraiser circuit. The band plays a fun and always surprising blend of bluesy jams and obscure covers. Defending rock and roll one gig at a time, The Defenders stand united against crappy music, bad beer and negative energy.

Since first touching down on WKSR (Kent State University) in 1996 as G-Squared, dj kNow1 (Greg Norman) has aspired to carry on the legacy of Hip Hop's greatest tastemakers and party-rockers. This focus earned the young DJ the position of Urban Music Director at KSR before graduating from Kent in 1999. G-Squared transitioned quickly into work in radio promotions/production and a Friday night club gig in Cleveland's Flats as part of Attichead Productions, a collective representing his hometown of Lakewood, Ohio. Veteran Dj Besto had taken the rookie on as an understudy and opener at the weekly, sharing his vast knowledge of cutting, mixing and song selection. G-Squared soon felt called to take on a more meaningful Dj moniker, changing to dj kNow1 in 2000 as a reference to his goals of maintaining humility while striving to utilize his talent. Still rocking parties with Besto and The Atticheads, kNow1 cut his teeth in the mixtape game with his first release in the spring of 2000. The Cypher was an unprecedented concept: 90 minutes of instrumentals mixed and blended, ready for freestyle and battle session use. The Cypher became kNow1s calling card, having since distributed another five volumes throughout the Midwest and beyond. kNow1 next relocated to Columbus, Ohio from 2001-2003, where regularly featured with The Fonosluts Dj crew at the legendary Bernies on Sunday nights. Upon his return to the 216, kNow1 reconnected with Attichead offshoot Tydedown Entertainment, opening for the likes of KRS ONE, GHOSTFACE KILLAH, PRINCE PAUL, MR. LIF, AESOP ROCK and MURS, while picking up a new Friday night at The Bassa Vita Lounge on Cleveland's West Side. The rising Dj had also begun courting powerhouse Nappyhead Entertainment, known for having the best and longest running Hip Hop showcase in the city, Kings of the Iron Mic. kNow1 scored as host Dj for the Kings fourth year anniversary show in March of 2002. Paulie Rhyme (Finless Brown) also linked with the bubbling DJ for a run of Thursday nights at The Rhythm Room in Cleveland Heights, including a show featuring CAMP LO and TAJAI (HIEROGLYPHICS). kNow1 was host DJ for the Kool Cigarettes MC Battle Series, culminating in an opening set for a performance by Grammy Award-Winners THE ROOTS at The Agora Theater. In an unprecedented power move, Nappyhead Entertainment successfully brought Hip Hop heavyweights SLUM VILLAGE and THE BOOT CAMP CLIK TO Cleveland for a pair of shows in the summer of 2006, without having to rely on any corporate backing or co-sponsorship. Know1 was again the host dj for both A-list shows. To date, the DJ has also held down weekly engagements at The EAC (Kent, Ohio), Oldfields (Columbus, Ohio), Za Za (Cleveland Heights, Ohio), Platinum Dreams (Cleveland Heights, Ohio), Caseys (Lakewood, Ohio), Friday nights at The Mirage (Cleveland flats) and was featured as part of Cleveland's annual City Expressions Urban Art Festival 2003-2005. Having worked with several promoters and production companies, kNow1 settled in with Nappyhead Entertainment in late 2003. He has since contributed to numerous recorded projects and spun at many shows as part of the still-rising organization. With kNow1 headlining, Nappyhead took on their first weekly club night at The B-Side Liquor Lounge (Coventry, Cleveland Heights) in 2005, including an exclusive promotional mixtape "The Dugout," which was distributed to pump the night. 2006 saw the release of The Legacy of J Dilla and Best of Boot Camp Clik mixtapes. Both have been well received and, since relocating to Harlem in August, sold well at the legendary FAT BEATS RECORDS. The BCC mixtape was also featured in the February 2007 issue of THE SOURCE magazine.

Born in '94, albertoreyes loves the mixing of music . Whether it was making mix CD's off Limewire downloads, playing in his church's worship team, or DJing, the mingling of music styles has always been something that interested the Fontana, California native.
Mixing primarily hip-hop, the 21-year-old is known to be well-versed in many kinds of music.
Inter-dimensional groove mongers.
Entering Alwa Gordon's cozy rental, well-equipped with a flat-screen TV and nicely appointed kitchen, you might not guess it's home to an underground rapper.
But the 24-year-old is just that, and he appears on the verge of bigger things. Gordon just recorded three tracks in Las Vegas during a studio session at Future Music. The label is owned by well-established hip-hop artist Jason Boyd, also known as MDMA, whose credentials include writing singles for Usher and Chris Brown. The collaboration could throw the Santa Cruz native in the real mix, Gordon said.
"I'm not trying to be something that I'm not," Gordon said of his flirtation with music-business success. "As long as you're the best you can be, I think people are going to respect you."
So how can a Santa Cruz kid with no street credentials make it in the rap industry? Gordon said his flow stems from two life-changing episodes.
The first happened as a child, when his brother came home with an album from rap legend Tupac Shakur. Gordon listened to it every day, he said, playing the tune "Ambitionz az a Ridah" over and over.
The second kick came in high school, when best friend Krishan Simonpillie asked Gordon, an amateur poet, to join forces and form a rap group dubbed Can't Stop Us.
"I had always been a fan of expressing my emotions through words, but I had never thought to put them behind a beat," Gordon said.
Gordon has had his fair share of hard moments,
growing up in different places of Santa Cruz County, he said. Raised in a modest household, the singer recalls his family spent two years living in the back of an 18-wheeler.
"I chose rap because it spoke to me," Gordon said. "It kind of told me, You're not the only one going through that.'"
Can't Stop Us faded away during Gordon's post high-school years, and Gordon found himself working solo. He released a mix tape, dropped out of Cabrillo College and started juggling day jobs while producing music and videos on a shoestring budget.
Gordon now solely focuses on music, plotting a musical future after his Vegas adventures. His songs are based on past experiences and strikingly avoid some of mainstream hip-hops's tired topics like money and prostitutes.
"You don't have to be a gangster, you don't have to be a dealer, you can just be good at putting music out there," Gordon said. "My music is a piece of me, I don't hold anything back."
Whiskey West consists of Roland Konicke on bass, Felix Sorrentino on dobro, Steve Tatowicz on drums & Eric Winders on guitar. This crew combines the sounds of outlaw country, bluegrass and honky tonk to create an edgy toe tapping, good time sound. The cast of musical compatriots, new and old, bring elbow grease, musicianship and camaraderie whenever they are called upon.

Isaac & The Haze
Coming at you live with the hottest hits on the dance floor, Isaac and The Haze are your go-to party band in the Santa Cruz and Bay Area regions! Bringing years of experience from various groups across nearly every genre, the members of Isaac and The Haze have come together with one goal: to get you moving all night to our live versions of your favorite club anthems, dance floor burners, and hip-hop cuts. Add in a selection of classic tracks, and you’ve got a recipe for a night of memories for you and your friends, customers, guests… there’s something for everyone!
Though they might not be a household name, for over half a decade Santa Cruz musicians, Sometimes Jones, have been jamming out so smoothly it spreads on toast. This four-piece outfit is a less on in the harmony of chaos; diving in and out of spacey, jazz-inspired jams only to splash into a funk-infused riff, then finishing up with a structured rock song. Says guitarist Chris Cousineau, "It all depends on where we start."
Taking their name from Larry Hankin's 1980 short film, Solly's Diner, the group is a lesson in originality. Besides Cousineau throwing down Clapton-esque riffs, the band also consists of Kyle Hamood slinging keys, Raymond Jones laying down the skins and Ryan Partington dropping the bass lines, daring audiences not to shake their money-makers.
Though loosely structured under the all-encompassing dome of rock music, to call them a "rock band" is to underestimate their sound. Each show is different from the last, with each musician heavily pumping his vast array of influences into an amalgamation of music that laughs at generic labeling. Their natural style leads them to never rehearse, preferring to keep their live shows as pure as possible. "The gigs are the rehearsals," explains Cousineau. While a more cautious reader might recoil in fear, this reporter has seen Jones play twice and can attest for their unique formula. The rooms were shaking with swinging bodies as the music floated through the ether, filling in the empty spaces with a special warmth. This is music made by, and for, people who love just that: music, not genres.
With such an unstructured ideology about their band, it's hard to say when Sometimes Jones will play again. Their shows seem to pop-up, unexpectedly, like last November when they opened for UFO at the Catalyst. But their sporadic gigs don't seem to bug any of the members. As Cousineau says with a sly grin, "It's always good to have a couple tricks in your pocket."
We're a group consisting of members who are passionate about music. Lots of different styles come into action.

The Cohesion brings together many different wonderfully talented musicians who have married their different styles into a project that will turn and make folks take notice. Inspired by such bands as Boston, King Crimson, Genesis, Tool and Yes
