New Webpage, check it out! www.portobelloroadmusic.com Portobello Road is four-piece alternative/blues/rock band from Denver, Colorado. Portobello Road has been together as a band for 3 years writing and playing creative originals and modern underground covers. The band is fronted by Chris Michaels who brings creative writing and melody to the bands contagious rhythm held by bassist Tommy Weber and drummer Josh Meneses. To top off the sound, Andrew Michaels brings a clean yet grungy lead to an already addicting mix.
Portobello Road is inspired by a wide variety of music and has built a set list around its lively originals while incorporating covers from their favorite bands such as the Black Keys, State Radio, Dave Matthews, Johnny Cash, Sublime, Jack Johnson, and the Dropkick Murphy's.
Hot Cheeze Soup is a melting of many distinct musical talents. By cleverly mixing the clean, crisp shredding of Chris Carter's Guitar, the cherubic and voluminous tone of Will Kilduff's voice, the melodic mauling of Charlie "the Meerkat" on the hand drums, and the pertinacious pounding of Jorge Urie on the Kit, HCS has created a unique and refreshing style all of its own. HCS believes in one true thing: WE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD WITH MUSIC. We hope that all of you agree. If you would like to melt with us into this bread-bowl that we call life, BECOME OUR FRIEND, OR COME CHECK OUT A SHOW! Also, check out the other local musicians that we have become friends with. We have worked regularly with Kenny Lee Young, My Friend Tom and Gunjumper and have met many other talented people. Thank you all for helping us get better and grow as a band!
Alexis Pastuhov is a singer/songwriter originally hailing from Portland Maine. For the past seven years Alexis has been performing his music at many of the premiere venues throughout the greater Portland area developing a sound that is lyrical and unique. His musical style is a blend of folk, alt/country, grunge and pop that is dynamic and honest in its delivery and content. Pastuhov laces the rural lanscape and the long winters of his home state of Maine into his songs, addressing themes of isolation, nature, love and human interaction with heartfelt sincerity. His writing while often times melancholy tells the stories of the people around him and the environment that defines them. As a lyricist there is an underlying sense of social awareness to his writing style, a kind of perspective from the "bottom of the barrel" so to speak that lends its voice to the characters in his songs.
Alexis Pastuhov has independently released two self produced CD’s of original music over the past three years. The first of which, a self titled EP released in the summer of 2008 and the second and most recently completed CD entitled All These Secrets Made the Greatest Friends was released in the fall of 2010. Alexis is currently in the process of recording of his second full length studio album.
