Driving Wheel was formed in 2007 by Ryan Tomlinson (guitar and lead vocals) and Jeremy Hunsaker (bass and vocals), who shared a love for blues and gritty, boozy rock and roll. Joined by drummer Dana Johnson, they have played hundreds of shows over the years and have certainly paid their dues.
Some of the larger gigs they've played include a spot at last year's Roots 'n Blues 'n BBQ with Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi as the headliner. They have also played several shows at both Mojo's and The Blue Note, in Columbia, Missouri, supporting such acts as The Steepwater Band and Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real. Recently their higher profile gigs have included opening for Buffalo Killers at The Duck Room at Blueberry Hill in St. Louis, Missouri and an appearance at the Dawg Daze of Summer music festival which featured many other acts including SHEL, The Hillbenders, and Spoonfed Tribe.
