Located in the heart of the French Quarter, Preservation Hall is known the world over as the mainstay of Traditional New Orleans Jazz and home of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. On the road continuously since 1963, it is the mission of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band to nurture and perpetuate the art form of traditional New Orleans Jazz. Whether performing at Carnegie Hall or Lincoln Center, for British Royalty or the King of Thailand, this music embodies a joyful, timeless spirit.

Preservation Hall itself was founded in 1961 by Allan and Sandra Jaffe with the dual intention of preserving this uniquely American art form while simultaneously providing some of its earliest practitioners the opportunity to earn a living performing the music they had both pioneered and kept alive for so many years. To this day, Preservation Hall is open seven nights a week from eight to eleven, presenting authentic, traditional New Orleans Jazz played by the city's finest.
