Waking Lights, The Tryptics, PaperDoll, Billbones

Pulled straight from the sonic viscera of New Jersey, Waking Lights is a powerful quintet that can easily serve as the defining sound of New York City indie folk rock, a necessary counterpart to bands like Okkervil River and Mumford & Sons (swapping the banjo for the violin).
Formed in 2005, the brothers Matthew and Tommy Maroulakos, Dana LaMarca, Kyle McCammon, and Nicole Scorsone are more a family than a band, endlessly digging into the depth of their unique musicality to ultimately create an organic aural experience, driven equally by strong instrumentation and Matt's intelligent, poetic lyrics.
After independently releasing their debut EP, The Rabbit Hole, on vinyl in 2009, Waking Lights have pushed themselves to a more fantastical wonderland for their second release, paying homage to the heavy rock and roll of Springsteen while maintaining a contemporary tone, resonating the harmonic zeitgeist of today's counterculture.
The Tryptics
The Tryptics are an indie rock band based in Brooklyn, NY. Combining heavy synthetic rhythms with melancholic vocal melodies their music is defined by their dynamic fusion of rock and electronica.
The band recently returned from their first international appearance, headlining the FALM Festival in Bogota, Colombia in October. Currently, they are working on their first LP due for release this coming… fall. In the meantime, they have been promoting their two new singles, “Hologram,” and “Go With the Flow,” across America and abroad.
Daniel Imaña and Charles Preston began The Tryptics together in New York City during the summer of 2009, subsequently producing and releasing a self-titled EP which combined Daniel’s experience as a recording engineer/producer and Charles’ intricate knowledge of singing and songwriting. Upon adapting their studio compositions for the live audience, they played as a duo throughout Brooklyn for a year, until meeting guitarist/keyboardist Santiago Muñoz who would ultimately enhance their sound and live performance. Since the completion of the band’s full line-up, they have consistently headlined numerous shows throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn as well as having been voted the #1 Brooklyn band on 101.9 RXP FM radio.
Keen on maintaining the momentum they have created over the past few months, The Tryptics are eager to continue promoting their new singles and the rest of their music worldwide as they head into 2011.
PaperDoll returns in 2011 after two dominate tours in China last year. The highlight included playing 15 shows in 15 days and conquering five major markets; Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Suzhou, and Hangzhou.
The energetic four-piece grabbed TV headlines with record-breaking crowds during the closing of the Shanghai World Expo. They also made history as the final guests on EXPO 360, a show highlighting the best of the World Expo.

PaperDoll's music is currently featured in a NIKE campaign airing in Greater China and on Facebook's BAR WORLD. Be sure to catch their music in feature film The People I've Slept With airing on LOGO Network.
-----------------
They've won over fans in Europe and Asia, but the live show tour-de-force started in the dirty perdy Lower East Side of New York City. Teresa Lee met Irish native Patrick Moloney in the open mic circuit and along with local bassist Steve Paelet - they formed PaperDoll. The quartet's high octane live shows soon attracted a loyal following in New York dance rock scene and expanded it across the country.
PaperDoll is: Patrick Moloney (guitar), Steve Paelet (bass), Teresa Lee (vocals).
