PEPPER, comprised of guitarist/vocalist Kaleo Wassman, bassist/vocalist Bret Bollinger and drummer Yesod Williams, formed in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii in 1997. They have also been known to hypnotize fans of all walks of life with their incredibly sweet harmonies all the while keeping bodies moving on the dance floor. PEPPER has sold over half a million records independently and founded their own record label, LAW Records – through which three other artists’ music is distributed: IRATION, Passafire, and The Supervillians. Their music has appeared in many movies (including Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Good Luck Chuck), television shows and video game soundtracks as well as having had a number of album tracks appear on Billboard’s “Alternative Songs” chart (including No Shame’s “No Control,” which peaked at 18, and “Give It Up” which peaked at 34). Their song “Your Face,” also from No Shame, is now available for Guitar Hero World Tour. The band has also amassed a large and loyal following stemming from their non-stop touring which includes numerous rounds on the Vans Warped Tour and outings with reggae legends The Wailers, 311 and Snoop Dogg, to name a few. PEPPER has performed at several festivals including Lollapolooza, Mile High Festival, West Beach Music Festival, as well as many others. In 2008, PEPPER made the rounds through Europe twice alongside Flogging Molly in the spring and Less Than Jake in the fall. They spent their summer of that year celebrating the July release of PINK CRUSTACEANS AND GOOD VIBRATIONS, which peaked at 11 on Billboard’s “Independent Albums” chart, by hitting up US amphitheatres with longtime friends Slightly Stoopid, and headlined the very first “Here Comes the LAW Tour” – which featured other Law Records artists, The Supervillains and Passafire. The madness continued through the spring of 2009 when PEPPER ventured out for the second time co-headlining the Jagermeister Music Tour with punk rock legends, Pennywise. In the fall PEPPER took the party to the streets of Los Angeles playing the second annual Sunset Strip Music Festival with rock legend Ozzy Osbourne.

Katchafire are an all Maori reggae band from New Zealand, who have achieved phenomenal success over the last few years. Their debut album, the prophetically named Revival release by Mai Music, has sold in excess of 45,000 copies with Giddy Up being the biggest selling single of 2003. 2004’s follow up, Slow Burning, was similarly well received, selling 20,000 copies in the first week of release. Since 2002 they have recorded four full length albums (Revival 2003, Slow Burning 2005, Say What You’re Thing 2007, On The Road Again 2010) a dub remix album and a Live CD. With years of touring under their belt, the band is constantly in huge demand in New Zealand, Hawaii, Australia and around the world.

J Boog is a man of many influences. The singer of Samoan descent was born in Long Beach and raised in Compton, California. J Boog's music career became serious in 2005, when a couple of brothers from his neighborhood brought him to one of J's favorite artists, George "Fiji" Veikoso". The two began working together immediately and J ended up moving to Hawaii in 2006 to continue developing his craft. After releasing his debut album "Hear Me Roar" in 2007, he joined the musical family Wash House Music Inc, a record label based in Hawaii and San Francisco. The results are apparent when listening to Boog's new music. It is authentic Island Music and genuine Jamaican reggae at the same time. Truly a new and exciting combination. There is a natural theme to Boog's writing: love. It recurs throughout his work and never once seems contrived. When you listen, you will feel he truly knows matters of the heart.

Opening the all-day festival will be Hot Rain from the island of O‘ahu, Squarefield Massive from Sacramento, Keyser Soze, and The Mark Sexton Band from Reno, NV.

Doors open at 1:30p. First band starts at 2:00p. Tickets are $39, and available at all Ticketmaster outlets, and at the MontBleu Box Office, or online www.ticketmaster.com. You can also purchase by phone by calling MontBleu Resort, 775-588-3515. This is an all ages event. Food and Beverage concessions located inside the amphitheatre.

PEPPER, comprised of guitarist/vocalist Kaleo Wassman, bassist/vocalist Bret Bollinger and drummer Yesod Williams, formed in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii in 1997. Having grown up surfing on the island, it's not a wonder that they would mix their rock "shock and ah" flare, along with their mellow island rhythm roots to create their own truly diverse sound. They have also been known to hypnotize fans of all walks of life with their incredibly sweet harmonies all the while keeping bodies moving on the dance floor. The trio played mostly house parties and garages before finally shipping out to San Diego, CA in 1999 to push their first studio release Give'n It.
In 2001, they entered the Volcom warehouse studio with Steve Kravac (Blink 182, Less Than Jake, MxPx) to record Kona Town, which included the hit single "Give it Up (Dirty Hot Sex)" – which has become one of KROQ's most played songs to date. On the heels of that success, PEPPER retreated into The Hive, a completely analog studio and home of 311, with legendary producer Ron "The Saint" St. Germain (Bad Brains, Living Colour, 311, Tool, Sonic Youth, Soundgarden) to record In With the Old. When the dust settled from the flurry of large-scale tours, the band recorded the expansive No Shame (originally released by Warner Bros.), which featured a slew of exciting producers including 311's Nick Hexum, No Doubt's bassist Tony Kanal and current partner in crime Paul Leary of the Butthole Surfers.

In the fall PEPPER took the party to the streets of Los Angeles playing the second annual Sunset Strip Music Festival with rock legend Ozzy Osbourne.
After spending the early months of 2010 writing and recording new music, PEPPER spent their summer on the annual Unity Tour with long time friends 311, and The Offspring. They played twenty-five big dates including several amphitheaters and arenas. Between Unity Tour, new music, a single, "Wake Up" accompanied by a B side, "Mirror," which were released this past July, and plans for a 45+ major market national headlining tour this fall in support of the forthcoming release of their Sitches EP due out Oct 12, 2010, PEPPER fans are sure to get the PEPPER fix they've been craving since 2009!

Reggae is one of the bloodlines of New Zealand music, and the all-Maori band Katchafire has become its foremost advocate today. A family affair from day one in 1997, founder and lead guitarist Grenville Bell and sons Logan (lead vocals) and Jordan (drums), remain the core of the band. Transcending their origins in a Hamilton garage as a cover band, Katchafire took their Marley-inspired original music to the bars and clubs, building up a fan base of thousands. Their exceptional debut album, the prophetically named Revival, sold in excess of 45,000 copies (more than double platinum in New Zealand) and they scored massive hits with songs like Giddy Up, the nation's biggest selling single of 2002-3.

After building on that success at home with the platinum follow-up "Slow Burning", Katchafire took a major step forward when New Zealand foreign exchange students Introduced their Kiwi reggae vibes to the fertile soil of the Hawaiian Islands. Underground popularity soon exploded onto the airwaves, and by the summer of 2006 Katchafire was topping the sales charts in the Aloha State and headlining at the 10,000 capacity Waikiki Shell. That's when
the band started giving their passports a considerable workout, from festival appearances all over Europe to increasingly successful mainland U.S. excursions. They now draw huge
crowds all over the Pacific, from Australia to Guam and Saipan.

On record, Katchafire reached a new level of musical depth and maturity on 2007's "Say What You're Thinking". With jazz, pop, rock and even hip-hop influences enhancing a solid roots foundation, they scored their greatest American chart success to date with a #6 showing on the Billboard Reggae chart. Katchafire is well known for trading instruments among themselves during their marathon live shows. That versatility is demonstrated as never before on this album, with no less than five bands contributing songs and sharing lead vocal duties. Front man Logan Bell contributes four tunes including the instant classic love song "Meant to Be". Jamey Ferguson contributes his unmistakable raspy leads on four more, including the thoughtful title track and gospel-tinged "Doesn't Anybody". Percussionist Leon Davey shows off his vocal skills on "Now Girl" and "Love Letter", as does drummer Jordan Bell on "J. Dubb" and keybooardist Haani Totorewa with "This World".

The last several years have found the boys supporting this landmark release with an increasingly hectic tour schedule, featuring stops at the Big Day Out Festival at home, Raggamuffin tour of Australia, and new island conquests like Fiji. And each U.S. tour is bigger than the last, with stops at SXSW, Reggae on the River, House of Blues and many more. With a long-awaited fourth album due this fall, combined with their relentless work ethic and phenomenal live shows, It looks like only a matter of time before the whole world is Katchafire country.

keyser soze

Keyser Soze has an original ska/rocksteady sound with strong jazz and soul influences. The 8-piece ensemble was originally formed by Jammal Tarkington and Rodney Teague. With the success of their first two releases, "Who is Keyser Soze?"
and "Revenge", the band has made a strong presence for themselves touring regularly throughout the west coast. The group's addictive sound has placed them in the position to share the stage with some of the best drawing headliners, including Michael Franti, The Wailers, Ozomatli, The English Beat, Toots & the Maytals, Steel Pulse, The Skatalites and Burning Spear. In 2011, Keyser Soze is excited for the release of their new recording, "But Not For You". The album features several striking vocal performances delivered by Tarkington and Teague. The single, "Next To Me", has already received significant air-play on college radio stations and reggae radio shows across the nation. This new 10 song LP will be one of the most heavily promoted albums to date through video, file sharing sites, & relentless touring. Keyser Soze will be bringing their incomparable style & infectious live performances to summer festivals, scooter rallies, ska-fests, & professional venues across the globe.

The Mark Sexton Band

Since 2006, The Mark Sexton Band has led the way in further innovating the sound of Soul & Reggae. The depth and body of the groups work stems from their deep understanding of music and the message that it bears. The Mark Sexton Band flexes a significant message in their music: pure emotion and love. This group takes pride in the production of their sound leaving no room for artificial feeling or contrived songwriting. After hearing "Listen Out", it's clear The Mark Sexton Band doesn't think twice when it comes to writing from the heart. Ignoring short-lived musical trends, the sounds from this group move on to see something more meaningful. Three full tours across the entire West Coast spoke volumes about the bands musicianship and dedication to spreading their music and message. The success from their travels let the music speak for itself to all who witnessed their performances. Seeing albums find new homes at every show has pushed this dynamic group to new heights. With the bands potential hardly even tapped, this is truly a group you do not want to lose sight of.
