Heads Without Dogs

Heads Without Dogs

"The Lowly Lights" is the first album by Heads Without Dogs. Once the songs that found themselves on this album began to take shape, Evan Schmidt started to look around for other musicians to help deliver the vision he had that would become Heads Without Dogs. Members Olivier Piroue, Austin Perkins and long-time friend Britton Woolums quickly jumped on board. After months of rehearsing for "The Lowly Lights," the album began to take a 'menacing punk sound that isn't afraid to experiment.' The result is an aggressive, and at times noisily melodic, record that dabbles in quick tempos, intricate jams, country/blues infusions and even doo-wop. Lyrically the album is described as a semi-autobiographical 'inner-monologue' that Schmidt developed during a 'darker' part of his life. The themes are tightly tied together with motifs and and the dark ideas expressed are hard to not have fun with. The recurring ideas expressed on "The Lowly Lights" help the album run like a narrative.

Heads Without Dogs have crafted a uniquely energetic live show. With all members having had the advantage of playing with previous groups, the energy generated on stage is explosive. The band's music is full of peaks and valleys that allow the guys to have fun building up, riding through and tearing down riffs and phrases. Always a varietal set with dancing, jamming and general movement, Heads Without Dogs shows always include something new and exciting.

Parlours

Parlours is an alt-pop five piece hailing from the heart of the midwest in Des Moines, Iowa. The female-fronted band blurs the lines between throwback pop and indie rock with folk sentiments and melodies that penetrate the heart. Dana Halferty's emotive vocals draw from a youthful ambition that stirs up nostalgia and passion in young and old alike. Whether stripped down on acoustic or complimented with technical guitar work, violin, synth and bells, Parlours promises contemplative, relational themes from the soul.

Red Fox Run

Denver-based Red Fox Run is a band concerned with one thing: earnest, passionate rock music. From humble beginnings playing house shows and recording in basements to signing with Cherry Sound Records and maintaining a rigorous schedule of live gigs, Red Fox Run has continued to grow and hone their sound. After releasing their debut album take[ctrl], Daniel Rondeau (vocals/guitar), Josh Hester (guitar), and Tristan Ringering (drums/percussion) worked to record Skeletons EP. The new release features “We All Got It,” a catchy rock anthem, and “Skeletons,” a brooding, burning guitar-driven jam.
