All Jane Comedy Festival and Curious Comedy present Maria Bamford, Jackie Kashian and the Curious Comedy All Stars as the headlining and closing show of the 2016 All Jane Comedy Festival taking place October 5-9th at Curious Comedy Theater and Revolution Hall! All Jane features 40 of the best and most unique women working in comedy today.
Maria Bamford is the star and creator of Lady Dynamite! the brilliant, critically-acclaimed and audience-adored new show on Netflix which was recently renewed for a second season.
Maria was named on of Rolling Stone's 50 Funniest People, and she’s the winner of the 2014 American Comedy Award for Best Club Comic, recurred as Debris Bardeaux on Netflix’s Arrested Development reboot, for which she was praised as “fantastic” (Entertainment Weekly) a “standout” (TIME) and “perhaps one of the high points of the entire new season” (Black Book Magazine). She also recurred on fX’s critically-praised Louie and Comedy Central’s Kroll Show and can be seen on the new USA sitcom Benched.
She is the creator and star of Maria Bamford: the special special special, one of Vulture.com’s Top 10 Stand-Up Specials of 2012, and of the cult hit web series The Maria Bamford Show, which screened at the Museum of Art and Design and was described as a “cold blast of brilliance” by The New Yorker.
Maria is the first female comic to have two half-hour Comedy Central Presents specials and starred alongside Patton Oswalt, Zach Galifianakis and Brian Posehn in the Comedy Central series The Comedians of Comedy and Netflix’s Comedians of Comedy: The Movie. She has made numerous late-night appearances, most recently on Conan and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.
Maria contributes comedic voiceovers for such animations as Netflix’s “BoJack Horseman,” Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time, PBS’s Emmy-winning series Word Girl, Nickelodeon’s Kung Fu Panda and Legend of Korra, and Fox’s upcoming Golan the Insatiable. She was also a regular voice on Nickelodeon’s CatDog and Back at the Barnyard (in which she reprised the role of Mrs. Beady from the Nick feature Barnyard).
Maria’s writing has been featured in The Onion, GQ and LA Weekly. She can be seen as both herself and her mother in the My Damn Channel web series Ask My Mom. Her latest CD, Ask Me About My New God! is available on Comedy Central Records.
In terms of showbiz, Maria has made it and is swimming in a gravy boat, filled with scrumptious gravy. She lives with two overweight dogs and a fiance in Eagle Rock, California. Go, Las Tiendas de Llantas!
Jackie Kashian's comedy is like listening to a really racy episode of All Things Considered. She is a national touring comic with a new hour standup special "This Will Make an Excellent Horcrux." It is available digitally or on CD or DVD. It's also available for $5 download on www.allthingsrecords.com. She recently made her late night comedy debut on the Conan O'Brien show, has her own half hour special on Comedy Central, was a semi-finalist on Last Comic Standing and has recorded This American Life with Ira Glass for NPR. She has a weekly Podcast where she interviews people about their obsessions. Tune into The Dork Forest on iTunes or at her website: www.dorkforest.com
