Nature Show, recognized for their live shows under their previous name, The Sunken Ship, digitally released their first full-length album in October, 2011. The 12 song, self-titled record is slated for physical release in January, 2012.
Nature Show play rock music that is at once epic and intimate. The guitars may scream, the vocals soar, and the drums and bass pound, but Nature Show's songs are driven primarily by strong melodies and heartfelt lyrics.
By drawing solid crowds to Chicago venues including Schuba's, Lincoln Hall, The Double Door, Mayne Stage, and Martyrs, and having performed with bands and artists such as BIG T1ME, Todd Kessler, Matthew Santos, Dick Prawl, and Eastern Conference Champions, Nature Show has built a reputation for playing high-energy shows with a personal feel. With their debut album completed, they are eager to return to playing live.
Nature Show is Calvin Marty, Wilam Tarris, Paul "Woodsy" Quaintance and Nevus Lotesto.
The Black Cadillacs are a 6-piece rock and roll band, featuring 2 guitar players, bass, drums, keyboards and organ, and a stand-alone frontman. The Black Cadillacs have a diverse array of influences from classic bands like The Rolling Stones, The Who, and Pink Floyd to more modern bands like My Morning Jacket, The Black Keys, and Jack White. Over the last 3 years they have been working hard honing their sound and live performance, and have made a name for themselves in the region. They just finished their second album, "Run", set to be released June 5th, 2012.
Led by siblings Kate and James Hathaway, Hathaways stands out from the crowd of indie-pop bands not just for the depth of their songwriting, but also for the unique Andean folk influence on their music, which is evidenced most clearly by Kate's use of a petite ten-string South American instrument called the charango. The pair has repeatedly toured and played at festivals in Peru, always to a warm reception and great acclaim for the way they infuse American pop music with Peruvian soul. Now, back home and recently augmented by an adept backing band, Hathaways' music is also gaining appreciation in the US for precisely the same reason: the group builds upon tradition rather than being bound by it. In so doing, Hathaways has developed a sound of their own. Seamlessly melding the exotic charm of the charango with the band's own refined songcraft and lush male/female harmonies, Hathaways is first and foremost a modern indie-pop band, albeit one with a very unusual and effective twist that makes their sound truly fresh, new, and absolutely one of a kind.
Nick Shaheen is a singer-songwriter and musician out of Chicago, IL. After the release of his debut album, "Don't Give Up On Me" in Spring 2012, Nick assembled a band out of his current friends-collaborators and some new additions. The result is a six-piece band of talented musicians and good friends charming every crowd they play for with Nick's finely crafted songs sung with the band's infectious sound made up of guitars, percussion, keys and a harmonica, banjo and trumpet. Currently, they are playing all over Chicagoland and around the Midwest with shows in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio planned for this summer and a west coast tour in the works for later this year.
