Noah and the Megafauna

Noah and the even more MEGA MegaFauna big-er band spectacular! A one time big band performance of "Anthems for a Stateless Nation" with special guests.

When frontman Noah Lit was faced with the collapse of his former indie rock band Oliver Future, he took what he saw as the only next logical step, put aside the electric guitar, and dive into the world of acoustic gypsy jazz. As he dug deeper into the dizzying scales, arpeggios and antiquated chords and patterns, Lit found a concealed wealth of songs surfacing in a form that quickly became Noah And The MegaFauna. His new sound: a clamorous whiskey filled raucous of sing-a-longs on the eve of destruction. Noah’s new song writing inspiration had him calling upon the diversity of his record collection and creating a combination of influences that while once were founded in rock bands like The Kinks, Radiohead and The Beatles, now also included jazz artists Django Reinhardt, Charles Mingus, Louis Armstrong and genre benders Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Jacques Brel and Leonard Cohen. Simply put by Noah himself, “Anthems for a Stateless Nation is a humble attempt at making a record that sounds like my record collection.” What resulted is a narrative caravan through moments of torrential downpours and shiftless shadows followed by the blissful warmth of a calm you hope will stay for good.

Timur & The Dime Museum

Formed in 2010 as a result of collaboration with the Klaus Nomi songwriter Kristian Hoffman, dark glam opera band Timur and the Dime Museum, described by Los Angeles Times as “punk-operatic spectacle”, appeared at the prestigious ALOUD series; America’s Got Talent; opened for Tiger Lilies, The Red Paintings; Devotchka; Prince Poppycock; premiered a puppet opera Zoophilic Follies at Redcat’s NOW festival, and Crescent City by Anne LeBaron. Led by Timur Bekbosunov, featured in LA Weekly’s BEST OF LA PEOPLE ISSUE 2011, the band embraces the notion of multi-disciplinary collaboration with composers and songwriters, and regularly performs around LA area and beyond. They will make their New York City debut in 2013, as part of the PROTOTYPE festival, by a special invitation of the legendary theater producer Beth Morrison.

Marcus Very Ordinary

Marcus Very Ordinary started as a Los Angeles trio by way of Buffalo, NY. Since the March release of their debut EP "Marcus Very Ordinary Renounces the Soil and Popular Roots", Marcus Very Ordinary has evolved into a full 8-piece band. Their self-proclaimed style of "sad bastard music," manipulating the verge of macabre, caters to kindred spirits for whom soul-searching is a life-long journey.

Interweaving mordant lyrics and lush orchestrated string/horn sections, Marcus Very Ordinary came onto the LA music scene in July 2008. Principal songwriter, Jon Lorentz plays the guitar, piano, banjo and lays down the vocals. Jon LaTona is on double bass and Vicki Scotto plays violin, respectfully adding rich textures of their training in jazz and classical music. Recently the band has added full time members Justen Finch, Ken Luey, John "MuscleMouth" Lugo, and Danielle Mays on horns. And most recently added Butch Norton on drums (Eels, Fiona Apple, Rufus Wainwright, Lucinda Williams).

Marcus Very Ordinary was born from the sensation of sometimes being alone even when surrounded by a crowd.
