POMPEYA: new sounds of Russia

POMPEYA is the russian band from Moscow, which consists of: Daniil Brod (vocals, guitar), Denis Agafonov (bass guitar), Nairi Simonian (drums) and Sasha Lipsky (keyboards). POMPEYA - indie pop, which absorbed all the best from various genres, in an accessible form which combines vivid emotion, style, beautiful vocals and a variety of arrangements.

The band formed in 2006 as a trio, and the first two tracks «Check» and «Traveller» POMPEYA immediately attracted widespread attention. Musicians had a firm foothold on the club scene of the capital and other cities of Russia, and warmed up such great bands as Stereophonics, Travis and Hurts.

In 2010, the group added a new member - keyboardist Alexander Lipsky who greatly enriched and diversified the band's sound.

To date the band released four releases, including EP "Cheneese" and "90" on vinyl and two LP's - "Tropical" and "Foursome". They was noted on a set of well-known festivals and venues in Russia, won the music prize "Golden Gargoyle" twice. In early 2012 the group spent a month in Los Angeles, where he recorded a new album Foursome. Recording took place in the studios of Bedrock and emitter studio with renowned sound engineer who worked with such artists as Beck, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Black Keys, Yeasayer, NERD

Sound-producer of "Foursome" was Christopher Haynes, known for his work with Norah Jones, Foo Fighters, Grandmaster Flash, Britney Spears, etc. Furthermore he recorded of more than 150 recorded live performances, including Yellowcard "Beyond Ocean Avenue" became a double- platinum. Haynes also recorded remixes for The Rolling Stones, Devo, Bush, Todd Rundgren, and other famous artists.
