The Utmost Something formed in 2008 in Oakland California when Paul Lee and Jeff Keyes invited Jovino Bunny to sit in for their missing bassist. Nataasja, Jordan, and Jono were soon to follow and they have been playing together ever since.

Hailing from San Francisco and shaping sounds from the heart, The Institution is a three piece band who sound like 5 people. Jay Scott (singer/guitarist) is from Hawaii and moved to the bay area in the late 90's. Pete Milan (drummer) is originally from Michigan. G (bassist) was born in the Philippines and moved to California when he was 6 years old. The band was formed in 2004 when Jay and Pete first met in college and started playing with each other. They soon formed The Institution and recruited another student to play bass for them. The first bass player eventually left the band.
