Drew Schofield Band
Drew Schofield was surrounded by music from his very beginnings. Born to a singer/songwriter mother and a church-going, hymn-singing father, Drew developed a love for music from his earliest years. His first instrument was drums, and he became passionate about percussion and the rhythmic elements of guitar early on. Drew briefly pursued an undergraduate degree in percussion, and the exposure to jazz in college sparked an interest in a broader spectrum of musical influences. He began writing original music during his college years and performed with friends in casual settings as he began to fashion his songwriting skills.
The years since those early days have brought a maturity to Drew's songs, and "Away We Go," his first full-length studio album, is a testimony to his sharpened skill as a singer/songwriter. The tunes are an acoustic-driven mix of folk rock with a pop sensibility that drive Drew's melodic hooks to the forefront of the listener's attention.
Soon after Away We Go was released, Drew was hand selected by Grammy Award winning producer John Shanks as a top 10 finalist out of 12,000+ entrants in Guitar Center's Singer Songwriter 2 nation-wide competition. The competition brought national attention to Drew's music, and the future looks ever brighter for the young artist.
Jeff’s onstage experiences have taken him to coast to coast countless times and have found him have found him sharing the stage with John Mayer, members of Counting Crows, Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead, opening for multiplatinum selling, multi-Grammy-winning band Train and performing on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show.
Selected as the winner of Guitar Center's National Singer Songwriter 2 Competition out of over 13,000 entrants in 2013, Jeff Campbell released "In Spite of Everything", a 5 song EP produced by 6x Grammy Winning Producer John Shanks, late that year. The EP debuted at #1 on the iTunes Rock EPs and Singles Charts.
On the In Spite of Everything EP, Michael Canter of Jivewired.com said, "...not since Elliot Smith have I heard similar music sound this accomplished. His wistful and soulful vocals make this album immediate and relevant".
A Philadelphia native, Campbell moved to San Francisco in 2004 specifically for the newer Rock scene he had heard was developing. After a few years of trying to balance learning the West Coast Music Scene with his day job, the job was cast aside in favor of full time touring, writing and recording.
2015 will see the release of "The Kitchen Sink", a full length LP.
Jeff and his band have been relentlessly touring the US to support these releases since the fall of 2010. He will continue to do so throughout 2015 and beyond and will not stop until his piece of history is defined. He has played hundreds of shows in dozens of cities, continuing to build a loyal following through live performances with personality everywhere he goes.
