The Award Winning Chilean slacker-romance Bonsái, directed by Cristián Jiménez, will start its South Florida first-run engagement on Friday, May 18 at Miami Dade College’s Tower Theater.

Based on the acclaimed 2006 Chilean novel by Alejandro Zambra, Bonsái focuses on young twenty-something Julio (Diego Noguera), at two different intervals in his life. Through both time periods, a richly comic and poetic metaphor of love – and its need to be nurtured like a bonsai – unfolds.

The truly superlative soundtrack features music from Pánico, Supersordo, Congelador, Emociones Clandestinas, Fiskales Ad Hoc, Tío Lucho, and many others.

Audience members who attend the Ana Tijoux concert at PAX on Saturday, May 19, will receive $2 off for any Bonsái screening at MDC’s Tower Theater by showing their ticket at the box office. Check website listings for daily showtimes.
