Nappy Roots are an American hip hop sextet that originated in Kentucky in 1995, best known for their hit 2002 single "Awnaw". Their music can be categorized as alternative Southern rap.

The members of the group met while studying at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The group consists of Kentucky and Oakland, California natives Skinny DeVille, B. Stille, Ron Clutch, Big V, R. Prophet, and Fishscales.

Their debut album Country Fried Cess was released in 1998. Eventually, they were signed to the major label Atlantic Records and rose to fame with their first album on the label, 2002's Watermelon, Chicken & Gritz. The album featured the singles "Headz up", "Awnaw" (whose remix featured Marcos Curiel), and "Po' Folks" (featuring Anthony Hamilton). Their next album Wooden Leather, released in 2003, featured the singles "Roun' the Globe" and "Sick and Tired" (featuring Anthony Hamilton). This critically acclaimed, major label follow up album, "Wooden Leather" featured production from Kanye West, David Banner and Lil Jon.

Since the release of Wooden Leather they are back to being independent artists, and have started their own label, N.R.E.G (Nappy Roots Entertainment Group) with distribution through Fontana/Universal Music Group. On July 31, 2007, they released their first album as independent artists, Innerstate Music featuring singles "Good Day" and "Keep It Real". This was actually an internet album, similar to a modern day mixtape.

It all began when the Musical Gods of Rock and Reggae mated in August 2007 to give birth to what is now known as Nifty 250. The minions of Nifty originally consisted of Justin Wilburn on vocals, Marley Magner on guitar, Lucus Welch on bass and Jordan Parks on drums. Members have come and gone over the years with the current line-up featuring Wilburn, Welch, and newcomers Trace Thorpe-Bucklew on drums, Toby Runyon and Ian Vardel on guitar and Sergio Slayer backing vocals with special appearances by original member Magner on sax. Their goal as musicians is to blend and bend the genres and mix their different styles and inspirations to make your body move like it has never moved before. Inspired by 311, Led Zeppelin, Earth Wind and Fire, Reel Big Fish and The White Stripes; their high energy live performances started blowing minds with open mic nights and have led them to headlining local venues in Columbia and surrounding areas. They have supported mainstream acts such as Dirty Heads, Rehab, Lojic, and Culture. What started as four guys getting together to have fun and change people's perception on the genres have become an epic display of rock, reggae, and rap unlike anything ever heard before. To compliment their original tracks such as “Hey Reggae”, “Time”, “Hard to Listen”, “Trippin”, “Maya Fantastic” and their newest track “Just Keep Going”; they have covered and put the Nifty spin on tracks by Cake, Snoop Dogg, Cee Lo Green and Rage Against the Machine. Nifty 250 are eager to rock heavier and party harder than ever in 2011. This is a band that must be seen live; their energy and unique sound will have you wanting more. So, for all those who are prepared to have their ears penetrated by some of the most satisfying sounds, Nifty 250 is here to fulfill that musical desire.

Tripl3 Crown

Drawing musical influences from three very unique backgrounds formulates the DNA of Tripl3 Crown. Attention is focused on themes of beer drinking, parties, and beer drinking at parties. If not for the parties and the beer drinking, most of T3C's music would be fictional tales. But not these Kings; they've been living the dream. Rocking dungeon basement shows, throwing house parties into blackout mode, instrumentals, three mics, one amp, Cardinals hats, and mailbox baseball bats. Nearly two decades of house parties, late night fiascos, general debauchery and the occasional Disappino, have all laid the ground work for the characteristic storytelling that is Tripl3 Crown.
