Stooges Brass Band
Long Miles, Swift Technique

The Stooges Brass Band has been one of the elite brass bands in New Orleans but only recently are receiving the accolades and well deserved recognition of their importance to the music scene of New Orleans. Since 1996, their high energy show on the stage and in the streets has engaged audiences with their innovative blend of traditional New Orleans brass sounds and contemporary hip-hop beats. The Stooges Brass Band has gained notoriety across the USA and the world as a full-blown musical party whether leading a second-line parade or performing their spirited stage show.
The Stooges Brass Band are undeniably one of the hardest working bands out of New Orleans and their dedication to their craft has made an impact. In October 2010, The Stooges Brass Band victoriously battled in the finals for the title of Red Bull Street Kings under the iconic Claiborne Bridge in NOLA. Along with this auspicious title, The Stooges Brass Band won an all-expense paid trip for a recording and mentorship session with a producer in the Red Bull Studios in California. In April 2011, the Stooges Brass Band were awarded the title of "Best Contemporary Brass Band" at the Big Easy Music Awards. Whether they're second-lining in the back streets of the Crescent City, or performing in clubs across the country, the Stooges Brass Band immerse crowds in a high-energy, cut loose vibe that's contemporary yet deeply rooted in the culturally rich musical legacy of city of New Orleans.
From the suburbs of Philadelphia, with sounds infecting the East Coast and beyond, Long Miles brings you melodies from a light heart. The band likes to shine in their own way, bringing good vibes to people wherever they take the stage. With heroes like Phish, Umphrey’s McGee, Steel Pulse, and G. Love & Special Sauce, Long Miles strives to feed the need for the groovy, bouncy, feel-good tunes that make these groups so well known.
Long Miles has come a long way since their self-produced LP, 405 Productions, recorded in their freshman college dorm room in Charleston in 2009. They recorded A Philadelphonic EP with Chris DiBeneditto (G. Love & Special Sauce, Slightly Stoopid, the Movement) at Philadelphonic Studios in Philadelphia, with a November 2010 release. This March they released their latest album, Shades, recorded with Rick Beato (Trey Anastasio, NeedToBreathe, The Movement) at Black Dog Sound Recording Studios in Atlanta, Georgia.
Long Miles takes a major sonic leap forward with Shades. The album showcases their exploration of new reggae-tinged textures and jam band-influenced song arrangements, while continuing to define their signature blend of inventive lyrics and tight, dance-inducing rhythms. With tunes on the radio and consistent crowds at live shows, their potential to be a major influence on the scene can be found at every listen, and Long Miles is ready for the world
While Swift Technique draws from all world influences, their genre is uniquely Philadelphia. The idea of combining traditional jazz and funk with hip-hop seems almost too obvious, but artists are not pushing the boundaries. The music scene needs sincere, soulful performers that audiences of all age, race and background can enjoy collectively. By combining old influences with young, raw energy, Swift Technique is the collaboration of six souls on a mission to flip the music scene upside down.
