56 Hope Road is a band bonded like a family, and as a result, their music has an unmistakable honesty and openness. Uncanny, intuitive communication creates an easy interplay on stage, making even the most layered tunes sound effortless. They allow the joy of spontaneous creativity to color their song-based arrangements - neither losing their musical center, nor restricting its growth. The music is acoustic funk at its finest with sounds reminiscent of G-Love and Special Sauce, Richie Havens, MMW, Grateful Dead, Paul Simon and Gomez. This Chicago-based “acoustic funk explosion” is known for clever songwriting, lush vocal harmonies and one of the tightest rhythm sections on the scene. Formed in 1999, 56 Hope Road is made up of vocalist/guitarist Dave Hamilton, vocalist/pianist Tim Reid, Jr., drummer Greg Fundis, upright bassist Chad Sanders, saxophonist Casey Fitzpatrick, and often augmented by vocalist Anne Katzfey, and percussionist Matt Katzfey.
56 Hope Road was recently announced the 2007 #1 Road Warrior Band by the renowned online musical resource, JamBase.com for performing 210 shows in '07. Since joining the HomeGrown Music Network, the 56 troop has been steadily gaining national attention for their energetic live shows and relentless tour schedule totaling 650+ shows since 2005. Rising stars on the festival scene and national touring circuit, 56 Hope Road has appeared at High Sierra Music Festival, Summercamp, 10,000 Lakes, Wakarusa and has supported a variety of national artists such as Dave Matthews Band, Stevie Wonder, Page McConnell of Phish, Leftover Salmon, Tom Cochrane and Red Ryder, ekoostik hookah, Umphrey's McGee, Tea Leaf Green, Devon Allman, Spyro Gyra, Verve Pipe, Bob Schneider, Robert Bradley's Blackwater Surprise, Drums and Tuba, Campbell Brothers, Jazz Mandolin Project, The Samples, and DJ Le Spam.
56 Hope Road has released 3 full-length records and sold close to 10,000 units on their independent label Albino Deer Records working with such industry moguls as GRAMMY nominated engineer and producer Rick Barnes (Smashing Pumpkins, Liquid Soul), Steve Albini (Nirvana), and Mark Rubel (Hum and Poster Children). 56 Hope Road is set to release their 4th full-length album due out in January 2008.
Their songs have been featured regularly on Sirius Radio Channel 17 Jam_ON, as well as WXRT Chicago, United Airlines Radio, various college and community radio stations across the country, National Public Radio, the soundtrack to “A Place in France,” in an upcoming film “Road to Woodstock,” and a Fox Sports Net Pilot/Warren Miller production “Destination Wild.”
The name 56 Hope Road pays homage to the positive influence Bob Marley's message and music has on the world.
Vintage Blue is a five man rock and roll show based out of Chicago. Their music is a well-reasoned mix of classic rock structure deftly blended with more modern rock overtones, creating something new and stirring for the rock n' roll fan. They call it: Contemporary. Classic. Rock. Vintage Blue uses a horn section, killer harmonies and catchy riff lines to combine the best of rock n' roll past with current rock sensibilities.
They released their freshman album "Strike The Mics" in February 2012 which received coverage nationwide from publications in Nashville, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City and everywhere in between. The record is currently being promoted to radio stations across the country and can be heard in Maryland, Delaware, Wisconsin, Oregon and Illinois. The Summer of 2012 will bring even more attention to the growing Vintage Blue phenomenon, as the band will play Milwaukee's Summerfest as well as several local Chicago festivals including The Worlds Largest Block Party, Sheffield Garden Walk and Guinness Oysterfest.
Having honed their craft while supporting such acts as Dave Matthews Band, Lifehouse, Fitz & The Tantrums, Sister Hazel, J.C. Brooks & The Uptown Sound, Vertical Horizon, John Waite and The Lovehammers, Vintage Blue has created a live show that will leave you tapping your feet, singing the hooks and telling your friends.
The Micah Walk Band's approach to music is subtly hinted at in their own name: simple and to the point. Nostalgic songwriting that brings about feelings of home and family, love and relationships, and those hard-learned mistakes is the first attraction to Micah Walk. Each song tends to float in your head after you first hear it, creating the sense that the song has always been there. Walk's personal epitaphs are voiced with passionate authority and carefully supported by the other band members' playing. All former college roommates, guitarist John Cardoni, drummer Darin Holthaus and bassist Dan Hartman have a keen awareness of each other that helps elevate the intensity and excitement of any performance.
Since forming in 2005, the band has developed a growing sense of knowing how to say the most by playing the least. That of itself is a philosophy that has always stood the test of time, if done just right. It's a never-ending goal, both personal and within the group. The Micah Walk Band isn't striving to be progressive; they would prefer to concentrate of how to play something, rather than what to play. This outlook on music is evident throughout their recently self-recorded and self-produced album titled Bright Side Fantasy, which was independently released in July 2008.
