The Scranton Gangster. The Mythical Rapping White Boy from Brooklyn. The Global Citizen.
This is BRBRCK.
Mike Berberich (aka BRBRCK) is a genre-bending hip hop songwriter based in Brooklyn, New York, where he writes and produces all of his own music. His catalogue spans an eclectic range of sounds, from 80s synthpop to roadhouse blues to progressive jazz. The narratives that BRBRCK crafts are equally diverse, from old school jams about stealing rhymes to commentary on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, written during his time spent in the West Bank and Jordan. His live shows are an explosion of energy, with a full band backing the MC as he weaves his witty sense of humor through a nonstop barrage of spitfire wordplay and brass-knuckle punchlines. In 2008, BRBRCK released "Scranton Gangster," his debut album, in part because of the extensive radio play his single "Scranton Gangster" received on Top 40 regional radio stations in his home state of Pennsylvania. Since then, he has penned over 200 songs and has collaborated with a diverse group of artists, including accomplished jazz bassist Felix Pastorius, Anna Morsett of the band "Yet Cut Breath," and dozens of local Brooklyn MCs and producers. BRBRCK is currently finishing production on his sophomore album, "Pardon the Languish," and plans to tour extensively in the US and abroad.
The 'U' & Fever
The son of Nigerian immigrants born and raised in Newark/East Orange New Jersey. Began as a Stand Up Comedian throughout and continues to do so but after meeting DJ CaMoflauge & forming an alliance with lifelong friends Sidanii "S-Dot" Bell & Husani "Hudini" Hayes (Visions of Quest-VOQ) his love and fire for Hip Hop couldn't wait any longer. Grew up watching Yo MTV Raps & Rap City with Big Tigger. Influenced heavily by a number of artists such as Notorious BIG, Nas, Naughty By Nature, Little Brother, and Fabolous but after listening to his fellow Nigerian countrymen Wale and seeing him live in concert in college, made up his mind he was going to begin his own path of greatness. Blends a unique style of wordplay with elements of Pro Sports, Movies, Pop/Mainstream Culture, and Social Issues. The 'U' intends on continuing the legacy of great Jersey MC's which includes Naughty By Nature, Queen Latifah, Redman, Lauryn Hill, Joe Budden, Ice-T, Sugar Hill Gang, and many others.
Hailing from The South (west of the Mighty Mississippi, north of the Rio Grande), Kirby Brown is an artist. With a stormy childhood scattered from the foothills of Arkansas to the farm-towns of East Texas, the roots are in him deep. He cut his teeth on Gospel music, was weaned on Twain and Whitman, became a man with The Stones on the radio. With the deeply-felt candor of the storyteller at a campfire and the fiery presence of an actor in his prime, Kirby Brown is authentic and engaging. His work is nothing short of original-- a memorable picture of depth and beauty and honesty in a less-than-golden age."
