Blacklisted
An ongoing evolution fueled by the constant momentum of touring as
well as the refusal to be self-limiting has propelled Blacklisted to
their current status. Existing as a potent amalgam of induvidual
tastes and varied interests Blacklisted have shaken off the perceived
limitations of their alleged genre and begun their own ascension. Led
by the unguarded and unreserved lyrics of G. Hirsch, their latest LP
"No One Deserves To Be Here More Than Me" is destined to become the
eclectic milestone of it's time. Drawing influence from such diverse
sources as Swans to Neutral Milk Hotel as well as from Dinosaur Jr. to
Nirvana "No One Deserves To Be Here More Than Me" is no cliched
excercise in the well-worn realm of post-Hardcore. It is no less than
the melody of a band hitting it's stride and not looking back.
Verse
Verse began as the side project of What Feeds the Fire front man Sean Murphy. The original line up featured Sean on drums, Eric Lepine on guitar, Mark Lennon on guitar and Matt Amore on bass (the band had yet to find a singer). Following the demise of WFTF, Sean moved over to vocals and Mike Hall of the Distance (www.bridge9.com) played drums. It was with this lineup that Verse released the "Four Songs" ep on Contrast/Double Down Records in the spring of 2003. The record was received well, and has been described as "teetering on the edge of desperation and anger, combining fast melodies with intense breakdowns. The vocal delivery is emotional and heartfelt with meaningful lyrics."
