Rising up from the hard streets of Chinatown in 2002, The Notorious MSG are three renegade restaurant workers on a mission to make your asses palpitate with their high-sodium beats. Their gritty sound is a compound of the rawest sounds on the New York City streets, hip-hop and punk rock, through a lens of streetwise Chinese-American tradition. They transcend traditional stereotypes while inventing a style and lexicon all their own. Their stage show, a whirlwind of sound and fury, has reduced women to tears and made grown men incontinent.
The MSG are set to release a full-length studio album May 24th, entitled “Heavy Ghetto”. Your blood pressure will soar. Your ass-hairs will sizzle. This is Chinatown, motherdickers.
Formed in a Hell’s Kitchen NYC recording studio in early 2008, Shinobi Ninja is the offspring of Singers Dave Aaron and Baby Girl, Guitarists Maniac Mike and Adriano Morez, Drummer Terminator Dave, and DJ Axis. Combining the forces of songwriters, studio musicians, producers, engineers, dancers, battle djs, and a chef, this “Voltron-esque” rock group bound by a party lifestyle and the love of music, creates an original sound with diverse influences of Hip Hop, Punk, Soul, R&B, and Metal. Prior to forming Shinobi Ninja, each of its members had respective careers in the music industry. Dave Aaron and Adriano Morez had been producers and engineers at Progressive Studios, an Eden of music and personalities, which regularly collided with ferocity, blind passion, and the NYPD. Baby Girl, who worked as a singer and dancer for major label artists like Ricky Martin, Diddy, Cassie, and Santogold, was a fixture in the vocal master class held at Progressive by esteemed vocalist, Craig Derry of the Sugarhill Gang. Twin brothers Maniac Mike and Terminator Dave ran The Sound Machine, a recording studio where they produced their projects and the work of other artists. Terminator Dave also worked as a music supervisor by day and as a busy DJ and drummer by night. Dave regularly appeared all over the east coast with DJ Axis, an accomplished battle and club DJ. As fate would have it, Mike’s career as a session guitarist and studio engineer eventually led him to work at Progressive Studios, where he was introduced to Dave Aaron, Adriano, and Baby Girl. Soon, Terminator Dave and DJ Axis became regulars at the studio through rehearsal and recording sessions shared by the three engineers. After two years of making a living together and countless nights of debauchery, this group of Hell’s Kitchen transplants decided to combine powers and create a force greater than its parts to form the ultimate urban rock supergroup - Shinobi Ninja. Quickly buzzing in NYC for their mega high-energy live performances, the band plays like they’re headlining New Year’s Eve 2K at MSG, headbanging, stagediving, mosh-pitting, and booty shaking their way through each set. Their forthcoming debut EP is 8 tracks of pure party sing-a-long brilliance. Select tracks have been making heavy rounds on Myspace, Facebook, and GarageBand. With a great response from the New York community and beyond, Shinobi Ninja is taking over the world, one sweaty rock circus at a time!
