Success 5000 is an Edmonton-based duo specializing in musical comedy. They have headlined every stand-up room in Edmonton, toured the country, and have been featured in comedy festivals such as Vancouver Sketch Fest and Improvaganza. They will soon be featured on an upcoming episode of CBC’s ‘The Irrelevant Show’.
Their award-winning short films have been screened as part of the Edmonton International Film Festival and the NextFest Emerging Artists’ Festival, and their original production in the 2015 Edmonton Fringe sold out every night of its run. Their first album, titled ‘Laughcore’, was released in March of 2015 at the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton. Their music blends absurd humour with biting cynicism; a recent review noted that “their songs are layered with fun, seriousness, self deprecation, love, thoughtfulness and a fine, refreshing touch of nihilism.”
Mike Butler, Shannon DeVido, and Quinton Alexander make up the members of Adventure Friends. They take improv forms and turn them into sketch formats.
The Don't We Boys
Founded in 2010, now an awkward teenager with a sense of adventure, The Don’t We Boys divides its time between rebelling against society’s totally unfair rules, sneaking out after curfew to explore abandoned mines, and working up the nerve to finally be honest with ourselves about our bodies. Come check out The Don’t We Boys and relive the awkwardness and wonderment of your childhood. You’ll enter asking, “Why?” and leave screaming, "I bet it had something to do with The Don’t We Boys!?”
The Don't We Boys is a critically-acclaimed, fast-paced sketch comedy show that has performed in over 30 states including San Francisco Sketch Fest, NYC, Seattle, Milwaukee, Philly, Austin, Vancouver, Chicago, and Gilda's LaughFest. Featuring Second City Detroit alum Joe Anderson, North Carolina’s AJ Schraeder (Thunderstood) and Sonny Pandit.
“…whimsically dark, self-referential and yielded as many gags-per-second as a Zucker-Abrahams-Zucker film.” – SF Sketchfest review
“…like reading a Choose Your Own Adventure book straight through without skipping pages: inhumanly fast-paced and whimsical.” – The Rapidian
The Flat Earth
The Flat Earth is a Philly Improv Theater (PHIT) Sketch House Team formed in 2012. They have been accepted into and performed at the Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival (2015 & 2016), San Francisco Sketchfest (2015), and Toronto Sketchfest (2015).
The Flat Earth is Jacquie Baker, Vincent DiCostanzo, Rich Lee, Matthew Schmid, Molly Silverman, and Adam Siry. They are directed by Paul Triggiani (Secret Pants).
