Adam Ahuja
The Uptown Party Down, Watermelon, Project K-Paz, Cole Williams

Adam Ahuja is a musician-songwriter (keyboard, vocals, guitar & drums) who combines jazz, rock, funk and hip-hop into a fluid style. Adam's music is layered with thoughtful harmony, lyrical expression, live loops, funky grooves & beatboxing, and an improvisational spirit, building a distinctive mood and atmosphere for any given moment.
Residing in NYC, Adam has performed his music at venues such as The Blue Note Jazz Club, Spike Hill Brooklyn, The Knitting Factory, amongst others. He also co-leads the band, 'The Flowdown,' an eclectic musical collaboration in NYC. Ultimately, Adam plays music because it inspires a sense of inner joy, in the hope that this joy can also inspire others in their own lives.
The Uptown Party Down
The Uptown Party Down has been gaining fast momentum on the NYC music scene as the next funky party band to emerge in the City..from the small clubs of Bleecker Street to the Highline Ballroom in a matter of months, the UTPD proves that no matter what the room, they can bring a colossal musical energy to any occasion.
Comprised of 8 musicians (almost all with master's degrees in jazz), they throw caution and formality to the wind with their high-energy live performances. A key element to their playful and exciting dynamic on stage is the fact that the band consists of musicians who have been friends for years prior to this ensemble.
Their sound could best be described as a synth and bass driven dance machine, with frantic horn lines nearing bebop madness but using just enough restraint to leave audiences wanting more. Frontman Alex Birnie deftly plays his role as the ringleader, keeping his troops in line, always conscious of moving the party forward and crooning audiences with his soaring, soulful tenor. It's only a matter of time before The Uptown Party Down is no longer one of NYC's best kept musical secrets.
Watermelon
Watermelon is a Funk Rock band stationed in New York City. The band’s unique sound is formed from the dynamic interplay of two singers, guitar, keys, and a driving rhythm section, producing a sound that has been called raucous rock ‘n’ roll with a punch of funk and undertones of hip hop. While the band’s spirit can be traced to the revelry and comradery of Sly and the Family Stone, the band does not shy away from such diverse influences as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, and Outkast. Seeking to break down all barriers with the audience, Watermelon lives for the live experience.
Based in New York City, Project K-Paz is a musical collective specializing in Spontaneous Music: 100% pure improvisation. We create music in the moment, which is the sum of the musicians present. Four musicians from around the world gathered with the goal of creating something special and unique. A mixture of genres, styles and musical cultures that erupts into this representation of art at its best. By living the art that is Spontaneous Music, our possibilities are endless, and thus, only the purest, most emotionally driven music is created every time we play.
We know improvisation is not anything new in music. But COMPLETE improvisation, and true spontaneity, are not easy concepts to embrace. We like to maintain the freshness of discovery constant in our music, so we never play the same thing twice, all of our music lives only in the moment, and will never happen again. In that way, everyone of our performances is unique, and at the same time completely different from the last one and familiar in that you can expect to receive 100% from each member of the band. We let our emotions and feelings ride on our music, and put it all out there...we don't know that it will always work out, but only one thing is certain, we are able to connect with our audiences in a way no other band can, because the audience is literally part of the music being made, and everyone present contributes to building this organism, this entity that is Spontaneous Music.
Our discography includes "Nothing to Something", a CD and DVD recorded at Avatar Studios in NYC, and we have the mission of spreading the wonder of Spontaneous Music around the world, having playedin places such as Boston, New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Barcelona, Milan, Helsinki, Kyoto, Tokyo, Port of Gustavia, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, among others.
