God Module combines elements of EBM, Techno, Darkwave, Goth and Synth Pop to create a style of music that is as powerful as it is melodic. Pounding beats mix with unforgettable synth hooks, deranged film samples and creatively effected vocals to make up the sound that has undeniably become their own.

In 1999 Jasyn Bangert began creating electronic music under the name God Module. After 2 demos were sent to a mere handful of labels, God Module quickly inked a deal with Canadian based Inception Records. In 2000 the debut God Module CD Artificial was released in North America and immediately licensed to the German label Trisol for Europe. The CD received rave reviews from fans, DJs, and the music press worldwide.

The time in between this release and the follow up to Artificial was filled with change for the band. Jasyn not only made the decision to dismiss the other original member of God Module but also to leave Inception Records. Both decisions were made for the simple reason of insuring the future survival of God Module. As time passed both have proven to be very good choices for the band.

In 2002, God Module released the Perception EP on their new North American label Sector 9 Studios and their new European label Out Of Line Music. In addition to working with the new labels, Jasyn was now working with two new members of the band, Courtney Bangert and Byron C. Miller. While Jasyn still continued as the main programmer/writer/vocalist in the studio environment, Byron made a welcome addition to God Module in a live capacity. Courtney, who had appeared on all previous God Mod releases now simply stepped up her position as the female voice of God Module as well as a live keyboardist.

The second full length God Module CD Empath was released in 2003. The CD's title reflected a departure from the SCI FI themes of the debut God Module album and focused on an area far more personal to it's creator than exposed on earlier works. Empath was "A place where abstract emotion intertwines with the beauty and horror of human life." The year 2003 also saw the European debut of God Module live at the GothAM festival in Amsterdam closely followed by their German debut at Wave Gothic Treffen in Leipzig. The year ended with God Module headlining the UK festival INFEST Saturday with VNV Nation headlining Sunday.

God Module returned to Europe in 2004 to promote the successful re-release of their debut CD Artificial 2.0 with a full European tour with label mates Decoded Feedback. Later in the year God Module released the EP Victims Among Friends on Out Of Line and returned to Germany to take part in the Out Of Line Electro festivals along with Hocico, Icon Of Coil, System Syn and Spetsnaz. These shows were filmed by the Hamburg based Crazy Clips TV show and released on DVD as the Electroline Festival DVD on Out Of line Music and Metropolis Records.

October 2005 saw the release of God Module's eagerly anticipated third full length CD, Viscera. Easily the most brutally melodic sonic-assault yet to be created by the band, Viscera takes you deeper into the world within Jasyn's head than ever before. Tracks ranging from relentlessly aggressive dance floor assaults to violently beautiful mid tempo laments, made Viscera an unforgettable album.

Following no preconceived musical rules, Jasyn Bangert erratically experimented with various electronic music styles on their 2007 album, Let's Go Dark. From the scary grooves of the opening track "Spooky" to the female voiced, 80's inspired sounds of "Corpses" to the brainwashing dance hooks of "EVP" and the epic dark melodies of the instrumental "Falling," the progress and further maturity of the God Module sound is impossible to ignore.

Being one of the original purveyors of Spooky Dance Music©, God Module still know how to do it best. Eerie synth lines, crushing beats, and vocals that change from a whisper to a subdued growl at the blink of an eye are just a few things that describe all things God Module. As a teaser to their upcoming 2010 album, Metropolis is proud to present The Magic In My Heart Is Dead EP. Featuring four new tracks and six remixes, the EP also contains a cover of Gary Numan's "Me, I Disconnect From You."

Twitch the Ripper

New Haven, CT: When one thinks of synthpop, Connecticut isn’t one of the first places that spring to mind, but for genre-bending electronic group TWITCH THE RIPPER, being an anomaly in that New England state has helped them avoid a “scene” and spurred them to discover their own sound. “We live close enough to those major areas which gives us the freedom not to be over exposed in one major city,” explains Jon Dobyns, one half of the duo. “I see it as a positive aspect that I’m not immersed in a ‘scene’. Perhaps by growing up and living in Connecticut, it’ll help create a sound here that’s based on ours.” Gearing up to plant these seeds, the band will be independently releasing their debut album BODILESS onFebruary 1, 2011. Their first single “Disconnected” EP of remixes of that track along with the album version of “Bodiless” will be released on January 11, 2011.

Mixed by Grammy winner Phil Magnotti and mastered by Emily Lazar of The Lodge (Vampire Weekend, Depeche Mode), Bodiless is an album that is as organic as it is synthetic. Fueled by electronics and synths but made of viscerally human emotions, it embraces both and mixes them inextricably. “Our use of electronics and synth may be the glue that holds us together, but it’s how we use them that gives us our own identity,” he explains. “We’ve shared the stage with synth pop, electro, aggro tech, EBM, and indie bands, and it’s comforting and reassuring to know that we can fit and make it work every time. I’m personally influenced by a lot of older electronica and New Wave groups, so our songs have more of a pop structure.”

Citing influences from Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, and New Order to The Knife and Bjork, Twitch the Ripper’s diverse palate of tastes has enabled them to tour with The Birthday Massacre and share stages with Nitzer Ebb, Combichrist, Xiu Xiu and Ego Likeness. The band plans to support the release of the album and EP with live dates to be announced shortly. From the moody percussiveness of the title track to the midnight groove of “Never Got You Anywhere” to the soaringly propulsive “Eternity,” Bodiless travels effortlessly and fluidly between synth grooves and human emotions. With its melancholic melody and deep, dark groove, “Bright Is Impossible” recalls both the postpunk depths of Wolfsheim and mid-era Depeche Mode and the current glam noir stylings of bands like IAMX and Trentemøller. “There are elements and specific feelings that are reminiscent of post punk and 80′s electro that I believe are good ‘what’s to come’ representations for us,” Jon continues.

Fearnet hails,”it’s their moody, ’80s-influenced melodies and vocals that tie the whole package together, and that element has led many listeners to compare them favorably with the post-punk icons of that decade, including New Order and Depeche Mode. Not too shabby for a band that’s only been on the scene for a couple of years.” Their hometown daily newspaper, The Hartford Courant says the band “builds moody soundscapes around gauzy, textured synthesizer parts, subdued, chittering rhythms and ghostly murmured vocals… calling to mind Trent Reznor on some of the darker Nine Inch Nails tunes circa Pretty Hate Machine.”

Fresh off their spring/summer national tour supporting industrial legends, My Life With The Thrill Kill, Twitch The Ripper hits the road again this fall opening for Imperative Reaction.

Twitch the Ripper is Jon Dobyns (vocals, synth, samples) and Lonn Bologna (programming, synth, drums).

DJ Mighty Mike Saga

Back in 1988, at the age of 11, I first heard Rigor Mortis by A Split Second. Little did I know at the time that a song I heard in my youth on a local Texas college radio station would change my perspective on music forever.

Electronic music then became a driving force in my life. From the raves and clubs I religiously attended in my late teenage years to the parties I promoted and organized in my early 20's, the love of music and the need to share that love with anyone that would listen led to my inevitable career as a DJ.

I started out in late 2002 as an 80's DJ playing and collecting 80's vinyl. I opened up at raves and played at house parties or anywhere that I could have the opportunity to move a crowd. By 2003 I was asked to perform at Philadelphia's infamous Gothic/Industrial fetish event SHOCK THERAPY.

Ever diligent to expand my horizons, I began collecting a variety of electronic styles (ebm, darkwave, terror ebm, synthpop, etc.) Patiently I taught myself the art of beat matching and mixing these forms of music into my sets and by 2005 I was offered a residency at SHOCK THERAPY. Attaining a good reputation and the freedom to express myself creatively I began organizing events fusing EDM commonly played at raves with Gothic/Industrial music. The FULL MOON GATHERING and C.H.U.D. events of late 2005 are still fondly remembered by many as a huge success in bringing people from many musical tastes and backgrounds together in harmony.

Opening new ears to the Gothic/Industrial sound caught the attention of a number of promoters. To my credit and honor I performed at DRACULA'S BALL, the largest Gothic/Industrial event in Philadelphia and usually play weekly at Philly's longest running Gothic/Industrial/80's alternative night NOCTURNE. I am featured in NYC frequently at the SMACK! and BYTE parties, and went on to play the BLACK SUN FESTIVAL II in New Haven Connecticut.

These are merely the highlights. The biggest highlight i have achieved and acomplished is playing at the WAVE GOTIK TREFFEN event in Leipzig Germany with 20,000+ people attending! This is the world's largest Gothic/Industrial event. As a Dj I love what I do and I am completely self promoted. I'm living my dreams of opening minds and bringing the music I love to the masses!
