Raya Brass Band

RAYA BRASS BAND. Soul Shaking, Border Defying Brass from NYC
Since 2008 Raya Brass Band has thrilled audiences with its energetic brand of soul shaking, border defying dance music. Given the way these five musicians electrify clubs, festivals, underground parties, and even subway cars with their riotous performances, it’s no wonder that they’re often mistaken for a band twice the size. The members of the band all bring their unique voices to the group, creating a sound informed as much by their love for the fierce and seductive music of the Balkans as it is by New Orleans brass bands, punk rock, out jazz, and a host of other international sounds. When they put it all together, this hard working band gets straight to the point, dancing, sweating, and shouting alongside its audience.

I am a DJ, PROMOTER, party thrower of sorts. I studied photography, graphic design, and printmaking, but majored in Event Production. DJing, party throwing, marketing, event coordinating and promotions are my specialty. Collecting music from everywhere, listening to comedy podcasts, and running are my hobbies. I live, work, and love in Pittsburgh Pa.
Pandemic is hybrid of traditional folk music and contemporary dance music from around the world. Dj sets are borderless, combining cutting edge dance music from remote regions of the world with traditional folk music reenergizing cultural identities. Consider Pandemic the digital crate diggers for underground glitchy ethnic bass music, but it doesn't end there. Pandemic explores traditional folkloric music and recontextualizes it by the juxtaposition with modern dance music and pop music from other countries.
The Pandemic party started in Pittsburgh, Pa back in november or 2005 as a collective of three dj's spinning the best in global dancehall.
