Between the release of their first full length Chromaparagon in February 2016 and it's first anniversary in February 2017 Moon Tooth crushed over 130 shows with some highly notable acts. The band is currently in the studio recording its follow up to Chromaparagon.
Moon Tooth supported Intronaut & Entheos on a full US tour in July & August 2016. They supported Toothgrinder & Auras on a US tour in October 2016. They were direct support to Thank You Scientist on a tour of the US & Canada in December 2016. They co-headlined a tour with Astronoid in February 2017 in the US & Canada and supported Fit For An Autopsy & Tombs on another full US run in June & July of 2017. They closed out the year with a full-US headlining tour of their own in November 2017.
They have also shared stages with Killswitch Engage, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Gwar, Mutoid Man, Candiria, Weedeater, Veil of Maya, Cancer Bats, KEN Mode, He is Legend, & King Parrot and have played festivals such as SXSW, CMJ, Texas Revolution Fest, and South By So What Fest.

"In the beginning it was one boy noise. I took the punk DIY ethic to exciting and idiotic new heights... cut out the middle men: record labels, managers, studio engineers, even band members. I didn't have any friends but I did have a microphone and entirely too much free time. I put out a record by myself and it was called "Mosquito Eater."
Well, a few years past. I made a couple friends and have a few more microphones. I have no free time anymore and we play in basements a lot.
We recorded an album like a team of actual humans. "Algorithms" was recorded by Kurt Ballou at Godcity and was released by MetalSucks digitally and Granite House on vinyl.
There was also that time we made an EP about sci-fi and called it "Into The Sun Where It Falls Off The Sky." Jesse from The #12 Looks Like You produced it with Kevin Antreassian at Backroom Studios. The cover has a Delorean flying over the dystopian LV-426 landscape chasing the Firefly-class ship Serenity. If you know what any of that means, you are a nerd.
We recorded a new "full-length" at Godcity called EVERYTHING IS AWESOME NOTHING MATTERS. It came out on 10/22/13 and it sounds gross.

Timo ellis (yoko ono, cibo matto, joan as police woman) singing, japa keenon (money mark, daniel johnston) on drums, and ashley wallace on synth bass make dark scary sexy fun surreal funny psychedelic thrash at doom metal speeds that suddenly explode with guitar lines that give punk bands a run for their money. Using more effects pedals than health, timo warps twists funnels distorts loops re-sequences and otherwise destroys both his guitar and voice to provide a series of unholy chunky sounds that sounds like a combination of every bad trip in the 1960's happening at once and the screams of any hapless h.p. lovecraft protagonist gazing into the maw of eternity. It's not noise rock, it's noise rock but cut through with an improvisational aspect to the melody which gives songs a different sound from one performance to the next as timo adjusts and readjusts knobs based on what he feels at that moment, freeing psych-rock from the convention of careful, staid chord progressions. It's like if led zeppelin read moorcock rather than tolkien and stole from hard bop instead of blues. Ashley's synthbass provides an electronic, anti-organic edge which complements the guitar and vocalizations perfectly, allowing it to fill out the soundfloor in a very forceful manner. Japa's intense drumming requires some very abrupt time / tempo changes and full blast to rest staccato dexterity. The netherlands just may be the best band you've not yet seen. You owe it to yourself to change that.
