Toilet Boys, the infamous neo-punk Glam Rock band, will reunite for several performances in 2016 to celebrate the digital release of their “Best of Toilet Boys Vol. l & ll” album. This marks the first proper US performance from the Boys in over 10 years.
Toilet Boys, the last great NYC rock n’ roll band, grew out of the iconic club scene of Don Hill’s and CBGB’s where legends were born. They toured the US, Europe, and Asia with Blondie, The Ramones, Rancid, The Damned, Joan Jett, Motorhead, The Donnas and The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
With one foot in a limo and the other in the dark heart of the NYC club scene, Toilet Boys have whipped crowds into a frenzy everywhere from the bullrings of Spain to the kinkiest, sexiest parties in the US to Madison Square Garden.
The Toilet Boys’ hit "Another Day in the Life" broke the MTV2 Top 20 Video Countdown and was featured in the hit film American Pie 2. Their music has also been featured on Last Call with Carson Daly, Becoming, Cribs, Driven, Fraternity Life, My Super Sweet 16, Sorority Life, Fashionably Loud, and MTV Spring Break.
Well known for their highly energetic stage show that included spark-showers, smoke, lasers, strobes, synchronized flame-columns, cheerleaders, confetti cannons, burning guitars and fire breathing performed by their lead guitarist Sean, Toilet Boys is fronted by the gender-bending Miss Guy whose androgynous style has been a catalyst in their rise to fame among fans and the press.
Revered by the New York Post, LA Times, and Rolling Stone, Toilet Boys have been deemed “a New York Rock Legend”. The UK’s NME states, “Miss Guy and the boys made rock history with their first visit to London.”
Toilet Boys reunited in Spain at the 2010 Azkena Rock Festival where they shared the stage with KISS, Bob Dylan, Slash and The Hives. They covered “Born to Be Bad” for the Runaways tribute album Take It or Leave It: A Tribute to the Queens of Noise. They “had the guts to stand up for rock ‘n roll and shout from the rooftops that it was alive and well” (Classic Rock – SLEAZEGRINDER), and the Boys are back louder than ever!
The Sweet Things
The Sweet Things’ story is a rock n’ roll fairytale. Lorne drank with Sam and briefly discussed playing together, though neither really followed up on that. Dave and Lorne drank and discussed playing together, though neither really followed up on that. Sam and Dave drank together, though neither really remember meeting. Darren and Sam met briefly at Lorne’s birthday, though, you guessed it, neither really remember meeting. Lorne gigged with Darren. Dave gigged with Lorne. Sam toured with Dave. In February 2015, all four got together in a rehearsal room twice and quickly booked studio time. In March 2015, The Sweet Things somehow managed to remember and record the first two songs they worked on.
Outside The Sweet Things, Dave fronts the Sharp Lads, Sam has played in Stiletto, The Kee Kartel, and The Bowery Boys, Lorne has played with The Dead Tricks, L.E.S. Stitches, and The Dimestore Haloes, and Darren is a veteran NYC drummer who previously played with Mazard and Tongue.
