Two holiday seasons ago, the Ticketfly team had our annual staff party at Red Devil Lounge. A lot of the night is pretty foggy but one thing we knew for sure- this is a beautiful venue in the heart of San Francisco’s Polk St district that really knows how to throw a party. We see shows there frequently and a few of our favorite artists seem pretty partial to Red Devil as well, including KRS-One and English Beat. As all you artists and venue owners know, if the artists are treated right then you’re gonna get a better show. It’s a San Francisco venue that can’t be missed and we’re happy to say that now you can get tickets for all Red Devil shows on Ticketfly!
In honor of the New Year, Red Devil’s Sweet 16, and other new beginnings, the RDL guys want to reward their loyal customers with a Half Off Sale! Check out this message from the horse’s mouth and then go get some tickets tomorrow!

It’s looking like East Austin is becoming the go-to neighborhood for live music. Earlier this fall, Emo’s opened Emo’s East in the Riverside area and now Beauty Bar founder Paul Devitt and Frank Hendrix from Emo’s have joined forces to open The Beauty Ballroom at 2015 E. Riverside Drive. The new venue’s focus will be on booking more national and international acts while still offering the lounge feel and the Beauty Bar aesthetic. The Beauty Ballroom has state of the art light and sound and can accommodate up to 700. The dance floor holds 500 people and there is a balcony that can comfortably fit another 200. Plus there’s an outdoor patio that will have seating for 200. This further expands Ticketfly’s reach in the Austin area after partnering up with ACL Live and Antone’s last year.
The grand opening of The Beauty Ballroom is New Year’s Eve with a special show by Austin’s Grammy Award-winning Grupo Fantasma. This Latin funk Band will definitely bring the New Year in on a good note. (*Note: This show has been moved to Club de Ville on NYE. So it looks like the first official Beauty Ballroom show will be on January 20th!)
With these two Austin live music powerhouses working together, we are sure this new venture will be a success. Also, we’ve got two new places to check out during SXSW 2012!
Be sure to check out their site for a list of upcoming shows.
And yes, we hooked up a new Beauty Ballroom website to match their sparkle!

We’ve been on quite a roll around here, with tons of new venues and promoters joining us as of late, but the latest venue to join the Ticketfly family has special significance for me. It’s with great delight that I welcome the Capitol Theater in Port Chester, New York.
The Cap is one of the most storied venues in the history of the U.S. music scene and has played host to some of the greatest acts ever to take the stage. You may have heard of a few these: Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, Phish. The list goes on.
I was fortunate enough to see a show or two at the Cap in my day. I got my start in the music business when I was a student at Tulane. I promoted concerts at Tipitina’s, and other venues, with our favorite local bar band – The Radiators. I saw the Radiators at the Capitol Theater one summer when I was in college and I remember it being a spectacular night, with the venue’s rich history providing a special backdrop to the evening.
The Cap is being re-opened by my good friend Pete Shapiro of the Brooklyn Bowl. I can tell you from experience that this guy knows how to build a venue and put on a show. The Brooklyn Bowl is without question one of the best venues not only in the USA, but the world. And Pete was the man behind the legendary Wetlands Preserve. I saw many amazing shows there. It was a great venue with its heart in the right place.
We are also looking forward to working with the fine folks of The Bowery Presents on the Capitol Theater. Man, are those guys hitting the cover off the ball at their new venue – Union Transfer in Philly – that we are ticketing. Needless to say, with Bowery and Pete at the helm on the booking front, there should be some amazing acts rolling through the Cap.
For those interested, here is an article on the Capitol Theater that appeared on the front page of the arts section of the NY Times yesterday.
If past is prologue, I have no doubt that the re-opened Capitol Theater will be as special as the original. It has all the hallmarks of a great success.

Hey All-
As 2011 comes to a close, we are extremely grateful for the growth our company has seen and the hundreds of amazing clients who have joined us in our vision. We are honored to work with some of the best venues in the country.
In lieu of our annual client gift this year (and because club owners probably don’t need anymore booze bottles…), Ticketfly has made contributions to some of our favorite charities. If you are looking to donate to a charitable organization this holiday season, we’d like to recommend them!
HeadCount
@HeadCountOrg
HeadCount registers voters at concerts and makes civic participation part of the live music experience.
Music in Schools Today
@MUSTCreate
MUST advocates for, supports and develops integrated, accessible, sustainable and measurable music-in-education programs that improve student achievement. This donation will provide 20 students with a semester-long music class and instruments.

Well we knew that New Yorkers loved Brooklyn Bowl, judging by how packed it is on any given night. And who the heck WOULDN’T love it. I mean, it’s bowling, music, food, and booze. So if you’re like me and you almost never break 50, it doesn’t even matter because you can walk 4 feet and break it on the dance floor. It’s the best ever!
But I guess we didn’t realize just HOW much the Bowl is on your average New Yorker’s mind until Google (AKA the gateway to the internet) released their Zeitgeist report this week. Brooklyn Bowl is one of the Top Ten most Googled terms in the New York Metro Area. And neither a hurricane nor a delayed train can stop them from getting their bowl on!
